Definitely looking forward to Revanche and Howards End.

Lola Montès sounds intriguing and I remember an American Cinematographer story about it one time.

And Hunger definitely sounds fascinating. After Basterds, I've been intrigued about Michael Fassbender's career.

All previously confirmed titles, so no surprises, but pleased to see Lola Montes and Make Way for Tomorrow official. Now let's get an Ophuls box, and ditch those horrible cardboard covers.

A good lineup, of course, but that Hunger cover is boooring. I was expecting a lot more creative than that.

Howard's End is an interesting choice. I don't get why the DVD is getting released a few months after the BD though.

Should also note that Lola, Revanche, and Hunger are coming on BD the same time too

Also 3 George Bernard Shaw films will be Eclipse #20. Here's the info from Criterion:

"The hugely influential Nobel Prize–winning critic and playwright George Bernard Shaw was notoriously reluctant to allow his writing to be adapted for the cinema. Yet thanks to the persistence of Hungarian producer Gabriel Pascal, Shaw finally agreed to collaborate on a series of screen versions of his witty, social-minded plays, starting with the Oscar-winning Pygmalion. The three other films that resulted from this famed alliance, Major Barbara, Caesar and Cleopatra, and Androcles and the Lion, long overshadowed by the sensation of Pygmalion, are gathered here for the first time on DVD. These clever, handsomely mounted entertainments star such luminaries of the big screen as Vivien Leigh, Claude Rains, Wendy Hiller, and Rex Harrison."

I don't think they intended to release HE on DVD as the current SE is more than adequate. I suspect complaints about the movie being Blu-Ray only and leaving a gap in the Collection is the most likely reason.

More power to them if people are silly enough to buy a DVD just because of a spine number.

Well for me, it's just about owning the film in general.

I don't feel like upgrading to Blu Ray and it seems strange/suspect to release the film solely on one format (I know the Merchant/Ivory collection is really a subsidiary of Criterion, but still).

Get the current 2-Disc DVD then. The Blu-Ray had the same content as the current 2-Disc DVD. It only added an interview with Ivory discussing the passing of Merchant, and looking at that link, Criterion even states the interview will remain Blu-Ray exclusive. All they're doing is taking the current 2-Disc, slapping the Criterion label on it and getting to charge more.

Lola is wonderful, but Make Way For Tomorrow...its one of these things I've been hoping to see in Criterion's lineup every month for years. And now its happened.

The rest look like rentals.

I'm very eager to see Hunger, and the Shaw set mainly for Major Barbara, which isn't as good as Pygmalion, but is very good. Revanche sounds interesting.
