No, I think 6 sounds about right. If I'm bored tomorrow I'll go through the old list threads.

It's pretty limiting in a few parts, and painful to complete in others. I've always been a firm believer in keeping it difficult and rare to complete, but perhaps that isn't right. Maybe a 'normal' checklist that is around 3/4 to 1/2 the size of the current one, and with the more difficult parts removed or simplified; and then a 'really expanded' checklist about 25% larger than what we have, with only the OCD amongst us willing to complete?

I imagine I'm trying to over complicate things again....

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 5: The Results

Yay, I won something! Nice job on the list Chad. There were three or four days where I had family obligations and watched nothing, otherwise my total would definitely have eclipsed last year's. I still can't believe I had 90 first time viewings last year. I started off planning to equal that, but soon decided to focus primarily on quality films I had already seen. Since this was my first Challenge with a big-screen HDTV, it felt like I was watching many of them for the first time, as it were. Congrats to EdTheRipper!

Congratulations to all the winners and participants. Although I finished in the middle of the pack, it feels good to be in such good company.

This year was awesome. One of these challenges I'm finally going to make it to the century mark instead of coming up just short year after year.

Great job, Chad!

OMG!! I just won a spot on most impressive list!! I love it!

This was a blast to do and I really enjoyed participating for the first time. It's sad that it is over but I will be back again next year.

Oh, and the quote about not lasting 5 minutes through the Children of the Corn remake was great.

Thanks everybody for a great month - looking forward to doing it again!

Congratulations to all the 'winners', but really, to everyone who participated and had a good time.

Love this thread. Love it, love it, love it. Thanks, Chad!

Just one comment, and I made it last year too. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix the numbering. If two or more people are tied, you don't go to the next number, you go to the number that they would be counting all the people above them. i.e. if two people tied for first place it would be: 1st, 1st, 3rd.

FWIW - I really hope to do better next year. Started off so well and when I got back from vacation it was all downhill. No DVR excuses next year either!

I'll echo the strong love, and the request for correcting the numbering. Perhaps Chad can fix that when he fixes my total.

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 5: The Results

Breast count total is severely sagging this year: 235
Only Chad would have noticed this. I'll be sure to make up for it next year!

Great job, as everyone else has already said.

^^ This may have been answered before, but... do you count a pair as 1 or do you count each breast as 1?

Each as 1.

It also doesn't count if the same pair shows up more than once in the movie. I think that's in the Joe Bob Briggs handbook, but not mine

You pretty much have to do it that way in case you have one that gets hacked off or caught in a meat grinder.

Just a matter of copying/pasting the embedding codes, putting a single space between each, changing the width and height to 150 x 150, centering them and slapping a spoiler tag on.

My bad. It's been fixed.

How the hell I managed to overlook that is a question for the ages because extra effort is always taken to check over everything one last time before posting. It really is all a giant blur though!

I know, but old habits die hard. Perhaps in time I'll come around.

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 5: The Results

This was an absolute blast and I can't wait until next year. Well hopefully next year I will have an actual job (got an interview monday) so maybe i won't be able to watch as many films but this year was one that i'll never forget.

And the Spike TV Scream Awards were truly disgusting. haha.

Nice work, Chad. I am not as active a participant as I would like to be, but I always have a great time doing the challenge and enjoy reading everyone's comments and discussion.

Re: October Horror Movie Challenge 5: The Results

Finally took the time to read through the whole thing. Very nice work! I'm surpised to see that I almost cracked the top 50. I'd say this was more of a warm-up for future challenges. Higher numbers next year and beyond.
