Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 5th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (Oct 1-31) P
Is the last day for finalizing tonight or tomorrow?
I'm really sorry for taking so long, my fiance has been in the hospital and well I haven't much left her side. It would be a shame to just finish out my list by listing the last few titles but if I have to I have to.
EDIT: I was at least able to put my final titles up for my list count. I made it to 104 for my first year in the challenge. I honestly didn't think I was going to make it but it was a hell of a lot of fun. I'm really bummed I haven't had the time to format the last of my list and add reviews. Hopefully she will get released tomorrow morning and I can finish it up quickly.

I only made it to 41 watched, but I'd say it's a good first try at the challenge. I'll definitely come on stronger next year. Really enjoyed the subset threads too, though I wish some of them had been more active.

Usually the first movie was good but then something unimaginable happened.

It was yesterday, but I always browse the lists to check for any last-minute changes before starting the thread. And I'm always willing to make edits after posting if need be.
Speaking of which, there's still a few of you that haven't indicated whether or not your list is complete. If there's no 'list finalized' message and it wasn't edited post Halloween, I'll have to make the assumption that it's incomplete. So, for those lists I'll include the last editing date (i.e. last edit: 10/16) under your total.
I'm definitely up for adding some more categories for next year.

I was just going through the lists (some for the very first time) to vote for "most impressive list" (which was no easy task) and I gotta tip my proverbial hat to so many of you guys who watched a ton of movies and wrote some great commentary. Some even had some cool pics, quotes, links and fun facts. I STILL haven't gotten to really look at many of them, but needless to say, I'll be perusing the lists thread for months to come.
Kudos to everyone involved... especially Chad (for running this sucker) and Trevor (for again heading up the 31 Films Subset, which I again didn't spend enough time participating in)!
I should probably change my avatar now, huh?

I had almost forgotten to vote for most impressive list. I tried to go through this thread and the OPs and noticed they'll be 3 winners...are we to submit votes for our top 3 (in order) or just pick 1?

It's amazing how impressively cool many of the lists are. I felt like a spent hours on mine, and all I did provide IMDB links and note the first time views. I think this year I spent all my free time watching massive amounts, and just didn't have time for writing. Seriously, I feel like my entire month was devoted to my list, with very little sleep, watching tons of movies at work, and no social life at all. How anyone watches more than me, let alone writing reviews and having a gorgeous list, I'll never understand. You all must have time machines.

Although, I've come to the realization that choosing lists based on all of those attributes can be an arduous task. So I'm thinking for next year we should consider implementing your idea of 'best picture/logo' and break the voting into separate categories:
- Formatting
- Images
- Reviews
Other than requiring 3 votes per person, it might simplify things a bit.
BTW, I'd very much appreciate if at least 5% of the following people would throw a vote my way:
Spoiler:
Currently there's not enough to decide a clear-cut winner. Need more votes, Otherwise I'll have to decide the few selections by random drawings and that sort of defeats the point of picking your favorite.

I can't pick just one. Plus, letting people vote for their top three (no order) would give you enough votes to make a more meaningful winner perhaps.

Sorry, I would have voted sooner, but I was out of town for a wedding (I know, another one) and a tennis tournament. I couldn't help but think of the challenge during my tournament.
I had been playing a lot and getting in better shape until October hit, at which time I pretty much just watched horror movies and only played tennis a couple times. Needless to say, I should have been more prepared and in better shape before playing in my first tennis tournament in almost 15 years. At the end of a really long first match, I ended up having pretty severe cramping in my legs. I won the match, but the next match against the No. 2 seed was a bit of a joke because I could barely move. Scary not just for me but for my friends who came out to watch me play. They said it was pretty agonizing watching me play that last match. In other words, I put on a horror show for anyone out there watching. Anyway, it was a good learning experience, especially because I know I could have beaten that guy if I had working legs during that match. Needless to say, I'm still recovering; I don't think my legs have ever been so sore. I'll be ready next time!
Anyway, PM sent for the list vote if it's not too late.
