Haha. Well Boorman does do a very interesting commentary for Zardoz (a film I love), in which he's quite candid about the film's shortcomings & explains his intentions very well.

I can imagine he'd do an interesting, honest commentary for Exorcist II, but the very recollection of its making may be too arduous & ulcer-inducing a task.

Agreed, and I'll take an ambitious failure over mediocrity any day. I wish more AF's like this and Ishtar should release special editions as candid as Caligula's 3-disc Imperial Edition, which is fascinating stuff.

After reading Boorman's year-long diary in the original Projections, I've become quite interested in seeing more of his work and reevaluating what I've seen. He speaks very candidly in the book about disappointments in filming, or attempting to, a number of projects, studio interference, criticizing his own work and finding joy in it... Really made me want to hear him speak further, so any additional commentaries would certainly be appreciated here!

I own the Anthology set that was posted earlier, not sure I like The Heretic enough to buy it again.

Yes! It did! Forgot about that one...

This is an article about the first release of Star Wars, but it's illustrative of movies released around that summer and release patterns of the era.

I've owned this for years and never watched it. Haven't watched III, either.

Hmmm... if only there were some kind of horror movie-watching challenge to inspire me to view them...

EXORCIST II is not really a horror movie.

Such a weird movie, strangely compelling in it's own way as long as when I watch it I forget that it followed a classic. A real over the top curio.

The music in the trailer is incredible as well.

So it seems the same thing that happened to ROCKY 5 with HOME ALONE opening against . THE DEEP is more like a summer movie and EXORCIST 2 is more like fall.
