I wish I had remembered to look at the numbers before I bought mine. I completely forgot they were numbered. Oh, well...

My number is: 24,458

If it's not number one, then I guess it doesn't make much of a difference. Though 666 would be cool (I'm a fan of Pulp Fiction, not the devil - just to be clear).

yea the amount is kind of excessive, i was just excited to get a lower number. I looked odd at best buy digging through all the boxes.

I got mine from Amazon, so I didn't have any control over the number. I was in the 93000+ range.

Re: Wizard of Oz Collector Number

Did anybody else who ordered from Amazon not get the posters? It's not a huge deal since it's not like I have any use for them, but I don't think they were in the box.

Well if you divide it up, it's only 4,860 per state. And when you think of how many retailers and e-tailers there are I guess that seems to be not a ton. Obviously they didn't divide them up equally by state, but that how many it comes down to.

Question: since it's out of 243,000...does that go for both DVD and Blu combined? Or just each singular format?

Re: Wizard of Oz Collector Number

I accidentally ordered 2 copies at Amazon of the standard box set for $44.99 each

would it be smart to keep both unopened since it is a collectors item and the value might skyrocket or should I return one of the copies if there is a chance I might not get the full price I paid for it if I sell it at a future date?

I might buy the regular 2 disc version just to watch.

I got the posters. They're slightly bigger than the box, so they were in a seperate cellophane sleeve.

My box number is: 194,038

imho, a pressing of 243,000 copies does not constitute a collectors item.

Re: Wizard of Oz Collector Number

I had no intention of buying this, but I'll have to check my local stores for low numbers. I found a sub 1,000 numbered Mickey Mouse in Color several months after it's release once.
