Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

The Morrison DVD looks great!

Glad they included the matches with Bourne, Edge, Hardy and Punk (especially the "last chance" one from Sept. 2007). Too bad there's no matches from his MNM days.

RAW DVD looks alright, not a bad selection of matches, but there are some great ones.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

They are way too proud of that whole "Denver Debacle" situation. That whole episode and all the bullshit surrounding it was just fucking horrible. Such a stupid thing to celebrate like they did. It came off extremely low-rent and desperate.

2009 Raw Recap
That looks to be a fairly amazing match list. There's just about everything I wanted. Some thoughts:

-HBK/Cena was an amazing match. Not surprised to see it, but it'll still be great to own and watch.
-Ditto for Punk's first IC Title win against Regal.
-The Ten-man WrestleMania showcase was amazing for two obvious reasons: the workrate, and that it was one of three matches Ricky Steamboat wrestled in 2009. Awesome.
-MVP vs. Kofi for the US Title was a nice treat.
-The four-way for the WWE title, which began Orton's fifth title reign is a big surprise, since it was so short, but it's a nice cap on the feud w/Batista and HHH.
-The LMS match between Orton and HHH was not only awesome, it was WAY better than the 2/3 falls match they had at the ppv a week later!
-Batista vs. Orton was the sudden end of their feud, so it's good to see that there.
-The first meeting between DX and Jerishow was a nice treat.
-Cena. Triple H. IV. 'Nuff said.
-The triple-threat tag match in the garden was fun.
-The first meeting between Cena and Punk was much better than I anticipated.
-And Cena/Orton is a nice finish to the year, and the set, even though the match kind of sucked.

I'm very happy with this set, but I do think it's missing some good stuff. More later.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

Both those dvds are just plain horrible!! Raw was a natural abortion this past year and to highlight what was on it in a dvd release is just pathetic. The Morrison dvd could have been better if they actually wanted to talk about the fact he was in MNM and maybe show a few MNM matches and then the transition from Johnny Nitro into John Morrison, but no. Instead we get to see a bunch of Raw and Smackdown matches we see free every week anyhow. Both dvds are pretty bad. Actually, now that I think of it, I can't really remember the last time I popped and got excited for a WWE dvd release. It's been a while.

Silvervision are offering a free 'John Morrison: Rock Star' poster when you pre-order, I think I'll take them up on that.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

the fact that we have these crappy dvds and still no jericho set is a felony

and why not release a randy orton dvd, atleast with him he has had enough matches to fill out a 3 disk set unlike morrison

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

The listing for the RAW set could've been muuuuuuuuuch worse (more Chavo/Hornswoggle) so it doesn't seem so bad.

I also have the 2-disc rare FYE exclusive Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior I'm selling for $24 shipped. PM me or e-mail me at nyratk1 AT optonline.net

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

I think the only matches I would have liked to have seen on the RAW set is when The Miz won the US Title from Kofi Kingston, CM Punk defending the world title against Edge and Jeff Hardy, and Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio for the IC title (from 6/15).

I wish that match was included too, it was a great match that got a good amount of time (around 15 minutes).

There is a good variety of matches on it, and whole set doesn't look too bad. People just like to complain about WWE because that's the cool thing to do. If you like WWE, people will think your an idiot and a fan boy for liking it.

I like collecting WWE DVDs, and i'm getting both RAW 2009 Season and John Morrison, so i don't give a damn what people think about that.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

Like i posted earlier BB hasn't really been stocking ppv dvds, but i happened to be by there today so checked stuff out and picked up the TLC ppv for 14.99, i was going to get it at walmart but since it was the same price i got it, just a little surprised to see it as my BB didn't carry bragging rights or hell in a cell.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

What would be cool on the Best of Raw set is if the matches were "Complete" as in they showed what happened during the commercials. That's the only thing that would make me want to buy this set and if they were smart, they would do that so it didn't look like they were just throwing stuff on there from the last year.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

Went by K-Mart for the Royal Riches sale, all WWE dvds are 25% off. Picked up a few i hadn't gotten yet, Hell in a Cell set, Ladder Match, Heartbreak & Triumph and Jeff Hardy: My Life, My Rules. The Hardy set didn't ring up at sale price, i had to mention it was on sale. There was barely any display for them, they were sitting on a high shelf that a kid would never even notice. Hell, i didn't even notice until i walked around a few times.

For the Morrison dvd, i wish they would have included just a little piece of footage from Tough Enough III.

Using "PG" as an excuse is the current equivalent of using "WWE sucks. WWF was better."

They're both fucking retarded and have no merit.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

on hbk's dvd i hope they include a few lost gems, like the europeon title match he had with the bulldog at one night only
hbk became the first ever grand slam champ that night, and the aftermath was crazy, it was hbk in his prime in a forgotton match

any other lost gems that should be on the set?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

its not just PG, the storylines are boring, how many times have hhh/cena/orton main evented the last 5 years, no buildups like there use to be, sheamus is a joke of a champ, the superman cena stuff is way to much, the whole product is just not very good, hbk/taker are still better in there 40s than the rest of the lockeroom and they proved it at mania

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

DETAILS ON THE WWE'S HART DYNASTY DVD
By Mike Johnson on 2010-01-16 11:53:01
The planned WWE Hart Dynasty DVD will be a three DVD set currently scheduled for release on 4/6. The set will focus on the different members of the Hart family tree as well as Stu Hart's Stampede Wrestling
.

An early official blurb about the set reads, "Clan Patriarch Stu Hart trained and toughened a generation of future superstars
, including sons Owen Hart and WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hit Man Hart. The Hart family legacy continues to thrive in WWE with third-generation stars Natalya Neidhart and DH Smith. Now for the first time ever on DVD, fans can learn the storied history of the Hart family and Stampede Wrestling in Hart and Soul: The Hart Family Anthology. This 3-DVD set is packed with a revealing documentary tracing the Hart family history, as well as matches featuring all the members of the Hart family."

Thanks to Mark for his help.

Take it easy with the insults. If you want to discuss the current wrestling product then post here:

Don't know if anyone has noticed but the run time for the Hart Family set is 720 mins (I think it's a mistake because the set is listed as three discs) but 4 discs would be very cool!
