The RiffTrax Kickstarter has added their shorts goal. Basically, if you back for $1 you can get 10 free digital shorts (or $10 worth of RiffTrax credit).

The way they worded the email, it looked like they were nervous that people would get angry they paid for something they thought would be exclusive to Gizmoplex and would get upset if it was released beyond that. Maybe those people exist, but that mentality is a far cry from the longstanding statement of spreading the word about MST3K out there: "Keep circulating the tapes!" The team is right: more eyes on this project means more fans and that can mean more funding for future projects, it's that simple. I paid for Gizmoplex and I'm still all for the latest season going to Pluto TV.
It's funny, because I read that whole email thinking "What about those of us who just want to watch the physical discs we paid for? Where do we fall in that hierarchy?"

The truth is, I guess I could have been watching all of the new episodes on the gizmoplex (although I don't think the tier I paid for would have even gotten me through the whole season), but I've mostly not been paying attention. I figure my Blu-rays will show up when they show up and I'll watch them then. I'm not really in any hurry.

It'll probably be sometime this summer or early fall. They can't do the blu's until the episodes are available. The last episode for Season 13 was finished and 'broadcast' this month or maybe Jan/Feb. The you figure it takes at least six months (starting from March) to do the blu's or maybe they can start work on the blu's before all the episodes are produced, but they definitely can't produce the physical discs until all the eps are done.

Oh I totally understand all of that. I just found it kind of funny that they were being so careful with their words as to not upset those who had been watching exclusively on Gizmoplex, but there wasn't so much as a mention of the discs.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

Rifftrax has unlocked the blu ray option for the Rad live show, and they announced two new stretch goals. A MP3 riff of Sylvester Stallone's Cobra, and a meat raffle hosted by Bridget and Mary Jo.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

Rifftrax has announced more backer-based stretch goals. I'm surprised they didn't announce a 10,000 backer goal, even though they've only hit that once before.

6,500 backers: New Rifftones song for all backers.

7,000: Backers at $30 and above get their name on a slide (the same slide) at the live show).

7,500: Nick Nolte P.I. Audio Book for backers at $75 and above.

8,0000 backers at $75 get a video of the Rifftrax guys going to Golden Corral.

8:500 Backers at $75 and above get an MP3 riff of Beastmaster.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

The campaign ends tonight. At this point a $1 pledge gets you 10 shorts and a song.

The Nick Nolte Audio book has been unlocked for backers at $75 and above. It’s about 200 backers away from being available for backers at $35 and above.

i’m hoping the campaign gets about 900 more backers today to unlock the Beastmaster riff.

Pre-orders launch Tuesday, July 11th. Pricing for either PS4 or Switch version is $29.99

This page states that the pre-orders will end August 13, assuming they don't sell out first.

This was posted in the TV forum, but I figured I would post it here as well. Season 14 has a crowdfunding campaign going. Not through Kickstarter this time.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

I ponied up for the digital season perk and Blu perk plus some sugar on top. Depending on how long the SAG-AFTRA strike lasts, we may not see new episodes until next summer or fall. Keeping my fingers crossed for 12 eps.

The physical release was sent to backers in August, I have the Blu-ray set, but Shout Factory! hasn't announced a retail release of it yet, but it has a barcode on it, so it seems like an eventuality.

I found mention that the gap between backer release and retail release for the previous Kickstarter-backed seasons was about 6 months, so that would be February 2024.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

If I back this one ill probably get the blue ray set instead of the digital version.
13 ended up at $30 so I can wait for that again.

Although probably don’t get Gizmoplex access with that
It doesn’t seem clear what gets Access yet to me.

The digital season bundle gives you 12 months access to the gizmoplex (access to stream previous and new episodes/shorts), and you can download the new episodes and shorts. The new gizmoplex access starts the same month as the new season. The season 14 box set is just the physical blu-ray or dvd and nothing else. The best bang for your money is probably the digital season bundle (nearly 2000 people have selected it), adding the season 14 box set if you like physical media.

Joel revealed the first movie of season 14 today.
Spoiler:
Battle Beyond the Stars (1980)

An enjoyable flick that should take kindly to riffing.

Joel dropped another Season 14 movie:
Spoiler:
Deathsport (1978)

They really don't make them like that anymore.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

I’m still undecided on paying for this season.
Dont like the Gizmoplex functionality ui.

Think I’m gonna take a chance and wait for this season to show up on the streaming channel or a $30 price on iTunes.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

I’ve always considered myself a true and Uber fan, but might pass as well. I love the new stuff and am ok with the Gizmoplex stuff, but just not sure I need to see the new content asap. I have every media release and still love the old stuff, and have a bunch of unwatched episodes too.
