The RiffTrax Kickstarter has added their shorts goal. Basically, if you back for $1 you can get 10 free digital shorts (or $10 worth of RiffTrax credit).

And I think it's awesome that MST3K Season 13 is on Pluto TV, too.

The way they worded the email, it looked like they were nervous that people would get angry they paid for something they thought would be exclusive to Gizmoplex and would get upset if it was released beyond that. Maybe those people exist, but that mentality is a far cry from the longstanding statement of spreading the word about MST3K out there: "Keep circulating the tapes!" The team is right: more eyes on this project means more fans and that can mean more funding for future projects, it's that simple. I paid for Gizmoplex and I'm still all for the latest season going to Pluto TV.
It's funny, because I read that whole email thinking "What about those of us who just want to watch the physical discs we paid for? Where do we fall in that hierarchy?"

The truth is, I guess I could have been watching all of the new episodes on the gizmoplex (although I don't think the tier I paid for would have even gotten me through the whole season), but I've mostly not been paying attention. I figure my Blu-rays will show up when they show up and I'll watch them then. I'm not really in any hurry.

It'll probably be sometime this summer or early fall. They can't do the blu's until the episodes are available. The last episode for Season 13 was finished and 'broadcast' this month or maybe Jan/Feb. The you figure it takes at least six months (starting from March) to do the blu's or maybe they can start work on the blu's before all the episodes are produced, but they definitely can't produce the physical discs until all the eps are done.

Oh I totally understand all of that. I just found it kind of funny that they were being so careful with their words as to not upset those who had been watching exclusively on Gizmoplex, but there wasn't so much as a mention of the discs.

Rifftrax has unlocked the blu ray option for the Rad live show, and they announced two new stretch goals. A MP3 riff of Sylvester Stallone's Cobra, and a meat raffle hosted by Bridget and Mary Jo.
