Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread
They've put up on Youtube a compilation of the Turkey Day host bits after the marathon in previous years, so maybe they'll combine the host bits and the short into one video, or post the short on its own in the coming days.

The Joel/Josh/Bill riffs are available to stream in this link, and you can stream/download the 2020 Turkey Day host segments there as well, which includes the Emily and the Bots reriff of Behind the Scenes at the Supermarket.

The next Mads live show is Feb. 9. They’re riffing The Choppers, which was made by the Arch Hall Sr/Jr team that made Eegah.
I saw them do it live a few years back. It was funny, but the print was terrible. I hope they have found a better version.

My wife heard something that may have been a joke but apparently Mike Nelson has some beef with Beck (the singer)? Is there anything to this?

Joel posted a Kickstarter update that there will be a new Kickstarter launched tomorrow for “the next chapter” of MST3K.
Based on the art, it seems at least Jonah Ray, Felicia Day and Patton Oswalt are back.

Ugh. I'd love to see more of Jonah and Felicia (and Patton) but why the hell do we need another Kickstarter? Netflix just paid $470 goddamn million for two Knives Out sequels, they can float Joel a couple million for some more MST3K.

I like Jonah but they should hav gone with the new woman who did a couple of the live web shows.
She was really refreshing with the bots.

Yeah, my takeaway is that MST3K didn't really work on Netflix, in terms of finances, which is orientated around "binges" of shows, and binging MST3K doesn't work all that great. You can see Netflix trying to shoehorn MST3K into the "binge" format via Season 12's "The Gauntlet" format, but it appears it didn't pan out since Netflix cancelled the show.

The Kickstarter is live and it looks like they'll probably bust the 2,000,000 mark sometime in the next 72 hours (I'm being optimistic). I've already made my pledge and hopefully this campaign does as well as the next one, cause I could really use 12 new episodes. The Gizmoplex intrigues as well.

It hit the 2 million goal in slightly over 24 hours. It took almost a week to do that for the first Kickstarter.
So three episodes are funded.

The MST3K Kickstarter has reached the halfway mark of its overall goal ($5.5 million) one week in.
The Mads will riff the Roger Corman film T-Bird Gang on May 11.

I've watched some of their shorts on Youtube and it feels like it's just the two of them cause there's not much energy. They need a writer's room backing them up.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread
Joel just posted a new Kickstarter update with some nice incentives.
You can get the classic episode packs given out during the first Kickstarter as add on rewards. This includes the first two KTMA episodes that were lost for years and haven’t been available to purchase since the Kickstarter.
So if you want those, just back for $1 or whatever, then do the $10 or $18 classic episodes add on. $10 gets you 10 classic episodes, $18 gets you 18 classic episodes. Either is a good deal.
Additionally, if the campaign gets up to 18,500 episodes by Wednesday (it’s about 16,500 now), everyone at the $150 level and above will get a digital download of Quest of the Delta Knights, which Shout didn’t manage to track down the rights holders of until recently. It’s been streaming on Shout Factory TV, but this is the first time it will be available to purchase.
You can also do add ons of season 11 downloads for $60, and season 12 for $30.

I’m seeing the 18 ep add on as $15.
I won’t be getting that extra episode in the $150 tier. That’s too rich for me.
Currently looking at the $100 level for the complete new season.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread
The Kickstarter should pass the 3.3 million goal tonight, unlocking 6 episodes. In an update, Joel said that if they pass 4.4 million he’ll return to host an episode as Joel Robinson, and if it it’s 5.5 million he’ll host two episodes.
Also, Emily from the live tour will also be a host, with some of the episodes centering around her and her bots (also Tom & Crow, but different voices).
