And, like Matrix Revolutions, that's the only way in hell I'm ever going to watch Transformers 2.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

If anyone's been weary about Rifftrax, I highly recommend the Planet of Dinosaurs DVD. The print is awful (although it is a public domain one) but the track is vintage MST3K. Great stuff. And the menu song on the DVD is hilarious.

I quite agree with Chuck's assessment, the Voodoo Man DVD is great also. Good news from CT as well, looks like the East Meets Watts DVD should be released before the end of the year.

But the CT DVD will be a live release. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I think I'll be OK with the audience reaction on the audio track since I saw this one live (I've had my autographed poster on the wall since May). I think they are planning on making this a one time only sort of thing.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

Shout Factory just announced the episode list for Vol. 17 (due in March):

• 101- THE CRAWLING EYE
• 415- THE BEATNIKS (with short: GENERAL HOSPITAL PT 2)
• 910- THE FINAL SACRIFICE
• 1005- BLOOD WATERS OF DR. Z

Woo Hoo! Rowsdower! I guess they worked out the rights issues (ie. offered the rights holders more money) with Final Sacrifice.

Apart from that, a pretty solid set. Not crazy about more Season 1, but since it was the first CC episode, I guess it's an "important" episode.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

I don't believe I just bought Final Sacrifice from Cheepnis! At least it only cost like $5...guess the rights holders saw it was the top selling DVD on that site and figured they were missing out on $$.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

Got my ticket to the next Rifftrax live event. Maniac was a pretty solid video release from them. I recently watched and hated Drag Me to Hell. Needed the rifftrax bad for that one.

As far as CT goes I saw East Meets Watts live. Hopefully the quality of the DVD will be good. The riffing was excellent for it.

Can't believe we get Sacrifice on DVD, but the Crawling Eye is a pretty bad episode even though I still want it released.

It's about damn time episode #101 - The Crawling Eye was released! That being the first cable episode, it should have been out years ago!!

And I personally don't mind more Season 1 episodes as long as it's the right Season 1 episodes. (Others that I think should be released are #107 - Robot Monster, #110 - Robot Holocaust, #112 - Untamed Youth, and #113 - The Black Scorpion.)

Still not too sold on the idea of the next Cinematic Titanic DVD being a live version. Here's a promo for it.

I'm not sure about that either. This way it looks kind of like five old people reading. I'll still buy it, of course.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

yeah...not into hearing an audience laugh...almost like a laugh track. Some riffs could be hard to hear if they are laughing enough.

If they want to put out a live dvd, they should make one without an audience.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

I figured I would give this thread a bump to remind people that tonight is the Rifftrax live Christmas event. There's a thread about this in the Movie forum, but some people might not head to that forum too often. So, I thought it would be good to get a bump here as well.

The new Cinematic Titanic episode East Meets Watts is finally available:

Not big on the audience laughter, but it doesn't seem to kill the jokes or anything.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

Great show tonight (that Rudolph cartoon was whacked out). I hope they put it on DVD like the Plan 9 show so it can become another holiday tradition for me, along with Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (MST3K & CT) and Santa Claus.

I posted these in the movie thread, but they're too good to just be contained there:

Live show was excellent. The ending part with Kevin in the fishnets was a Christmas nightmare for all time. Was hoping we would get more of the shorts as free gifts than just the Christmas tree one though.

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread

Some mildly annoying news for those of us who pre-ordered Vol. 17 through Amazon: http://www.mst3kinfo.com/?p=4673#comment-46470

On the brighter side, watched East Meets Watts last night and loved it. The jokes are much more rapid-fire performed live. The presentation on DVD is very pleasing to the eye and ear as well.
