Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread
Finally got my shipping notice last night.
I might have mentioned this before, but I'm moving a lot of my DVDs into binders, and after some hesitation, I dumped a huge chunk of my collection into a binder (mostly Star Trek so far). I'll be doing MST3K next. I had asked some months back and I thought there was somebody who would want all the packaging, are you still around?

Lucky, mine is still "Shipping Soon", which is starting to make me angry at this point. Amazon, you're killing me here. I'm excited though, for some reason I haven't seen the Fugitive Aliens yet.

Mine came today. My wife said our 5 yo walked around the house hugging the set for like an hour. We've only watched a few eps but I think we might have a new fan.

There was a new Cinematic Titanic release a few weeks ago called "Rattlers":
http://www.cinematictitanic.com/show...shows/Rattlers

Interesting that this one is an Amazon exclusive (at least for now).

Sometimes they keep titles exclusive to their site for a bit. It will show up on Amazon eventually.

I wonder if it's because something happened with EZTakes.com (a massive crash and data loss, I think) which has messed up the ability to download episodes from them.

I had a ball. Until a storm hit and the satellite feed was knocked out for the middle twenty minutes of Manos. The theater was nice enough to give everyone a free movie pass.

Aren't these live events more expensive than a movie? I'd want a full refund. That's too bad the event got wrecked.

It was a fun show. They riffed a bit of this commercial:
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/xAEPuGuzqrE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Welcome Back, Norman:
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AdUckp2EnZ8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
And a short about cylinders (from the makers of Grass!)
I'm kinda bummed that the digital goodies this time are just pictures and a behind the scenes video. No downloadable shorts or songs this time.
Mark your calendars:

From tvshowsondvd regarding the Dec 4 release of vol XXV
Taken from: http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Mystery...#ixzz2Bgnw375S
MST-ies who order this collection from ShoutFactory.com will receive bonus good-tidings in the form of a DVD featuring all nine installments of the MST-riffed, season one serial Radar Men From The Moon, presented together for the first time, including the previously unreleased chapter "Hills Of Death." Also includes a new introduction by season one's Tom Servo, J. Elvis Weinstein.

I stumbled across this...
A Belly Full of Anger (Fully Translated English Edition with the voices of Bob Odenkirk, Joel Hodgson, Trace Beaulieu, Philip Proctor) [ Amazon Link ]
It's seems like it's more like a "What's Up, Tiger Lily?" type thing in which the original soundtrack was replaced with a new humorous one.
Here's a trailer for it:

While I usually get these sets from Amazon after they've been out for a while and are much cheaper, I may have to bite on XXV for that bonus disc.
Luckily, Shout! is having an MST3K sale until 11/27:

Shipping kills the deal compared to Amazon on one set but definitely makes a difference if one orders more than one set. Hmm...

Re: Official MST3K / Rifftrax / Cinematic Titanic DVD Thread
Commando Cody in "Radar Men From The Moon" Chapter 6 ("Hills of Death") was shown in MST3K episode #108 "The Slime People". I guess that's the only Season 1 episode with Commando Cody segments left to be released.
It'd be nice if they included on the Commando Cody in "Radar Men From The Moon" DVD the concluding episodes 10-12 even though the show never riffed them, just so fans can at least see how the serial's story wrapped up. (The entire serial is in the public domain, so there should be no right issues to deal with.)

Rifftrax is having a 20% off sale today using the code FRIDAY. I used it to pick up the last few riffs I hadn't bought yet.

Deep Discount is also running a BF sale on most of their Rifftrax. Don't know how much longer it's got. I ordered a few of the Live blu-rays I didn't have.
Rifftrax
Live Christmas Shorts-stravaganza
Live Plan 9 From Outer Space
edit: Looks like the sale is through the 25th. Good prices.

I stumbled across this bit of MST3K history online. It's a public showing of the initial pilot episode of MST3K which riffed a small bit of the movie "The Green Slime".
(This was never aired on TV and was only created as a proof of concept in order to sell the show to a local TV station, the now defunct KTMA in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota.)
Part 1 (start watching at 3:57 if want to skip the talking beforehand):

Part 2 (this starts off pixelated but clears up after just a few seconds):
