How about changing mine to Final Destination then? The first one I mean, from 2000. Also, as long as you're changing me around, any chance you could switch my day? My Thursday work schedule is pretty messed up so I won't be able to guarantee my participation. I'd hate to miss my own movie. Any other day of the week should be alright.

Now I have an excuse to post the newer DVD/BD trailer:
<object width="720" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.traileraddict.com/emd/13842"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.traileraddict.com/emd/13842" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent" allowfullscreen="true" width="720" height="350"></embed></object>

For Shaun of the Dead any day after the 7th would be great, as I'll be out of town. No preference on a special day for it...unless there's a DVD Talker named Shaun who wants to choose.

Thanks for incorporating my suggestions. I'm excited about the subset and will try to incorporate as many of those (preferably those I haven't seen) into my personal challenge.
I'm not working this October. I am excited as hell for this. I'm looking forward to seeing Zombieland and The Stepfather in theatres.
I'm going to probably check out Jennifer's Body this weekend. Not sure I can hold out for that one. Been waiting for it.
Halloween is on a Saturday this year? Sounds fun. Get the popcorn and candy ready...
What are some films outside the subset people are considering this year?
A few off the top of my head:
30 Days of Night
Messiah of Evil
Frontier(s)
Gutterballs
Christmas Evil
The Unborn
Stepfather 2
Bloody Moon

I'm going to have a tough decision on what movies to get this year for the 31 subset. To be honest, I have only heard/own about 1/3 of those movies. I only know Troll 2 because I've seen it on the IMDB bottom 100.

Trick r Treat on October 30th, now that's one that I have to buy.
The previews for that looked intresting to say the least.

Okay, for the first time in the history of this challlenge, I actually have to ask if a movie could fit as a horror movie or not. Can anyone tell me if Danny Boyle's Sunshine fits as a horror movie? Usually I don't need to ask as I can spot what counts from a mile away, but all of the reviews and trailers send out a mixed message to me and I just haven't watched it yet to know. I've got the blu-ray and I've been dying to see it but if it counts as a horror flick then I'll save it for the challenge. Thanks in advance.

Hey Trevor I see there is an open spot for the 28th. If hasn't been anything suggested I would like for you to consider "Ravenous" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0129332/

Ok, think I accommodated everyone's change requests and additions.
That leaves one spot on the 7th for me to choose a film, and one more theater choice for the 25th.
Riotinmyskull, if I don't think of something cool I'll put in your second choice of The Entity (1981) for the 7th.
Keep in mind that the discussions will take place in separate threads, so you are not limited to discussing the choices on that one day. The threads can stay open as long as people want to talk about them. So even if you don't watch the movie on that day, but weeks later, or years earlier, you are always free to join the discussion.
Chad or I can start the specific film threads in the recommendations subforum the night before or morning of the date specified. Actually, what do you all think of being more flexible and starting the specific threads even earlier? As long as everyone knows not to enter the thread until after they watch the movie, and we put spoiler alerts in the first post, I don't see the harm in getting the threads out there. That way, if you watch one of the movies early, and want to get your thoughts on it out there while it's fresh in your mind, the thread will be there. Of course, the whole point is try to to make it a group experience, with most of us watching the film the night before and discussing it that one day; but why not be flexible? Just a thought.

You're probably fine. Most people don't have to wake at 0500 on a Saturday morning. If it was my weekend off it'd be perfect (admitting that I rarely have a late date....).

Noticed that we are very modern in the 29 daily selections so far, nothing older than 1965.
So perhaps it best if I choose one "classic" tale. I'm thinking about Vampyr (1932) , or Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933) , or Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948) . Any thoughts?
And don't forget that we need another theater film, or not. Maybe two classics?

Did anyone else notice the 31 Days list doesn't include anything prior to 1965? I think it's a great list and I'm not at all complaining, it just seems a bit odd that all us DVDTalk cinemaphiles and horror aficionados didn't include anything from an earlier era!
EDIT: Trevor apparently noticed. I should really learn to push that F5 button more.
I'd have to go with Vampyr. I'm anxious to open up that MOC version I recently purchased!
