I'm not sure how many of you here have heard of this movie, and instead of telling you about it, I'll just link to the film's website. Actually, I can't link you guys to it because I'm pretty sure portions of the site are against the TOS. Anyway, just Google search "Black Devil Doll" and it is the first result.

This is one of my most anticipated releases for the rest of 2009. I've been following the movie since it was announced, but in its limited theatrical run, it never came to any theaters near me. I can't wait for the DVD! And just in time for Halloween!

Saw this being promoted at Fangoria L.A this year.

I missed all the local showings of it, so I'm looking forward to this release.

It is written by Stephen Romano who also wrote Shock Festival, which is an amazingly kickass book that I wholeheartedly recommend. According to one (of only two, haha) reviews for BDD, it is an oversized paperback (6 x 9) with large format printing, and photos galore. I just ordered my copy today, lol.

I went to the premiere at the New Bev earlier this year. The movie is a lot of fun, though it could have been cut in a few scenes. It has some great music, courtesy of Giallos Flame, and the camerawork and cinematography is surprisingly better than I had expected. Shawn is a totally cool guy and I know he's proud of the film. I'm also friends with the lead actress, Heather, and she was totally embarassed at the screening because she's naked so damn much and she hates her acting. I'll pick this up, if for no other reason than the opening scene, which is just wonderfully shot and scored.
