Re: Transformers Revenge of the Fallen---Oct 20th

OK, something i just noticed on the bottom of the box "Dialogue has been changed from the theatrical version"I don't know if this is just on the "big screen" version, or the regular dvd as well. I watched parts of the movie, but not all of it, as its late, and i can't really blare it like a movie like this needs, although i did watch the forest sequence, and it looks awesome, and the resolution does seem a bit sharper, so i don't know if its the added resolution of the camera being in imax, or if its just that the image is opened up?

Xage, could we possibly get some more pics of the Target exclusive? I'm curious if the case is similarly shaped to the transforming Optimus Prime.

Re: Transformers Revenge of the Fallen---Oct 20th

I found this on another forum.

Shows a good comparison between them.

Of note is that while the Optimus Prime came in a clear plastic case, BB comes in a paper box/case.

I noticed that Xage got the Blue ray version of the bumble bee case. Is it DVD box height, or shorter when in alternate disc storing mode?

Did anyone notice that the "I am Professor Colon" line was removed?

as i noted on the last post on the last page, there is a small disclaimer on the bottom of the case (by the ratings reason), stating that 'some dialogue has been changed from the theatrical version'

I did see that actually. I also noticed Megan Fox dropping the F-bomb towards the end of the movie. I turned on the subtitles just to be sure. Strangely enough, all the F-bombs are bleeped out on disc 2.

i noticed when listening to the commentary track last night (or as much as i could take of it), that Bay was restrained, as any one who has heard say the Armageddon commentary, he swears quite alot.

Thanks Xage. That might be one more reason that I'm inclined to get it. The Target exclusive for the original Transformers was nice and sturdy, even though it was just a clear plastic case, and looked great on my shelf next to The Lord of the Rings extended trilogy.

I don't think any explanation is needed....he is a collector, just like the people who bought 5+ variations of the exact same comic book just for different cover art back in the day.....

Just thought I'd point out that the case with Bumble-Bee is made out of paper and not the clear plastic as used for the TF1 Optimus Prime figure/case.

Yeah, I read that before, but thank you.

I'm probably just going to have to see it for myself and then decide, but I'm still in the middle.

Me too. I am trying to decide between the blue and dvd version. I have the other two transforming cases, so I am going to get this one, and right now I am leaning towards the blue version, as I already have a dvd copy of the film.

I just want to mention that I have both of these. In person, the Bumblebee is clearly more detailed. It's difficult to explain, but it feels like he's actually a combination of different parts, versus Optimus who felt like big pieces of plastic attached together. It looks like the Bumblebees were individually painted as well, since I noticed differences between each one in the stores.

I love how Xage never gives the slightest clue when asked probing questions. It deepens the mystery and bolsters the legend.

Collectors buy multiple versions of the same thing. CD and vinyl, import and domestic, limited and regular, etc. There's not much explaining, except the people who do it like the challenge and the fun of it.

Re: Transformers Revenge of the Fallen---Oct 20th

I just wanted to mention that the TF2 dvd sports a marvelous transfer, considering the current state of standard def. Even when upscaled to 1080p on my 50', there were no signs of any intentional dicking of the image, unlike some recent blockbuster about this Dark Knight character. Great extras too. Kudos to Paramount.
