Could use some more selections. Anyone else that wants to submit a film for the schedule, feel free to do so. Just post here or send me a PM.
And a reminder that the club is sponsored by DVD Empire, they have the upcoming films on sale for us here:

1. Berlin Freakin Alexanderplatz (bring it!)
2. Double Life of Veronique
3. Scarlett Empress
4. Juliet of the Spirits
Just four off the top of my head I've been meaning to watch recently.

Just a bump to remind people that the current six discussions could use some more discussion. Here's the schedule thread with links to each of the six films.

I'm not sure how I missed jdpatri's post.
What do you guys think about Berlin Alexanderplatz? I'm thinking the length of it may not be ideal for this, but if you guys disagree I will go ahead and add it. Otherwise I will just use your second choice.

Re: Criterion Film Club
I think it might be a bit too long for this fledgling endeavor. It was previously mentioned as a sort of optional monthly bonus pick, to supplement the four weekly titles. Perhaps once we grow into a busy weekly thread club then we can bring that idea back up.
We can barely get five people to comment on a 90 minute film right now, I doubt a 15 hour mini-series would get much activity.

But I'm cool with going to a next choice.

Re: Criterion Film Club
I'm thinking of of doing it and a couple other long mini-series as my Make-Your-Own-Challenge items, I think it is set for May.
Fanny and Alexander and Roots are my other considerations.

Re: Criterion Film Club
Also, hah, I never knew we actually started this up last year. I was still waiting to hear about it. I don't know how I missed that schedule. I just put up a comment on one of the films I just happened to watch this past month. I'll try to catch up on the others I haven't seen.
