Do you seriously just have this canned response saved in a text file somewhere so you can just cut and paste it every time a new release is announced? Anyway....I know a lot of people hated this flick, but I enjoyed it and will be getting it (on Blu-ray Disc, thank you very much).... |
Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine - September 15, 2009
Pretty snobby for the Blu-Ray owners to applaud this behavior. What, you don't want me to watch the same features as you? I don't get it.
This film sucked anyway, so enjoy it for eternity, on your Blu-Ray. |

Were VHS only owners bitching when DVDs were being released in '98 and '99 with special features their tapes didn't get? What about before that, when laserdiscs had special features? Were cassette tape only owners complaining in 1987 when their new copies of "Bad" by MJ didn't have the extra track "Leave Me Alone" on it that the CD did? |
Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine - September 15, 2009
It's not the same thing really. VHS and DVD, since no one expected VHS to have features anyways. More like the bitching that arises, justfully, when studios don't port over existing features from Laserdiscs and such.
Blu-Ray touts those in-movie experience, which DVD can't have, and I don't care because I don't like those anyways. But witholding documentaries and featurettes from the DVD SPECIAL EDITION, mind you we have to fork over nearly the same price to get something significantly inferior. Drop the prices or include everything possible on the DVD. |

Drop the prices or include everything possible on the DVD. The PS2 is the most successful system of all time (like DVD)...lots of new games are still being released onto it, as well as the other new gen platforms...however, the PS3/360 versions of these games are in high definition and typically have a few more extra features (such as online play, additional downloadable content, more play modes, etc.)....the PS2 version also costs less than the PS3/360 version of the same game... Are the people who are still only playing on a PS2 and have not yet stepped up and purchased a new gen system, be it PS3 or 360, complaining whenever a new game is announced and the PS3/360 version features extra characters and more content? |
Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine - September 15, 2009
If it's possible to put the extras on the PS2 and if they are charging nearly the same price , then it should. Whatever is exclusive to the format should and has to be only on that format.
That would be the right way to do it. A situation in which everyone is happy. The DVD market still exists, people still spend money on them, and I care about extra features The price difference between the standard DVD and SE is bigger than the difference between the SE and the blu. DVD customers are getting fucked, and you won't be singing the same tune when the same thing happens to the Blu-Ray format. |

Thats why I buy more independent films now cause they dont (for the most part) dare pull that kinda shit like the major studio releases do. |

I'll only get this if it's in a steelbook, but what a beautiful steelbook it could be!

I will be getting a Blu-Ray player for Christmas and every new purchase for me will be a Blu-Ray (starting with An American Werewolf in London in September). |

Very well said.

Step up with the rest of us and go Blu, then you'll have no reason to complain (unless a movie is PG-13 or under 2 hours long, of course). |
Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine - September 15, 2009
I will buy this once the price drops to $15.00 or so. (Blu-Ray)
Sometimes the Blu-Rays do not get the Extended Cut. |
Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine - September 15, 2009
I remember watching this on dvd a couple of months ago. Maybe by the time this comes out, the cost of blue rays will have come down to reasonable prices.
