Got my copy a couple weeks ago (thanks!) and it does indeed rock. Fans will be very pleased, though the fact that Terry didn't participate in the extras is a bummer.

I found it at my Best Buy, but a blue shirt had to pull it from the back for me. The first blue shirt said, "Oh, that just came out in the theater sir. It's not on DVD." Before I could say anything the second blue shirt said, "No dummy. He's talking about the original with Terry O'Quinn." LOL.

Watched my copy of this last night... And still an amazing, underrated horror thriller from the 80's.

The one part that still annoys me is...

Spoiler:
The entire subplot of the ex-brother in law searching for The Stepfather and when he finally finds him all he does is just stare at him and say... "duh, ugh, is that blood" and goes on to get stabbed when he is armed with a handgun. Drives me crazy how dumb that part is.

But, still doesnt ruin my enjoyment of this terrific film.

Thank you shout factory for finally releasing one of my favorites!

Got mine yesterday at BB, it was the last one on the shelf in the 'horror' section.

what an excellent little gem of a psychological/horror movie. i thought i had seen it a long time ago, but i don't think i have. this was my 1st and i was very pleasantly surprised by the good acting for a 1987 horror movie, especially by Terry. really good all around and so glad i picked this up.

the only thing i thought was odd and not mentioned on commentary was Jerry's shirt selection.

a couple scenes he is wearing this sweater that was, to me at least, a rip-off of Freddy Krueger's iconic sweater. the stripe pattern fit at least. couldn't make out the colors exactly. but i was wondering if that was some nod to it since that franchise was bubbling around 1987.

then another scene, he is wearing the sweater, talking to Stephanie outside while hiding that piece of mail she got from the journalist, cut to his work basement and he is wearing the identical colors and pattern, but this time is was button down work shirt. just thought that was odd.

anyone else notice this?

When will this get a pricedrop I have been waiting years to own it. It made the Remake look like a Lifetime Movie. Terry O'Quinn was superb in the 1st and 2nd.

The more important question is will part 3 ever see a DVD release?

Not that its a reason not for it to get a release on dvd but wasn't that pretty horrible. I'd probably still get it just to have all 3 looking all pretty on my shelf.
