Trade magazines have received early details on DVD ($27.95) and Blu-ray ($35.99) releases of Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins which stars Robbie Amell, Nick Palatas, Kate Melton, and Hayley Kiyoko. This new live-action adventure will be available to own from the 22nd September. Extras will include a Scooby-Doo Coolsville High Video Yearbook, an Anarbor You And I music video, a gag reel, a Fun of the Set with This Cool New Character Cast featurette, and a quiz. The Blu-ray release will also include a trivia track, a standard def DVD, and a digital copy. We've attached an advertisement containing some early artwork below:

So now they're making dtv live action movies? I might give this a rent.
Where are my missing animated episodes?! I really hope they get a release sometime soon. I can live without the missing Scooby-Doo Movies episodes but there are 6 or so regular episodes from the 70s that have not gotten released.

I've been waiting for this (as sad as that might be). I love Scooby-Doo and I'm interested to see if the new actors can do a good job. I wish they would come out with a real trailer for this, all they have is that teaser trailer with no footage.

I'll probably rent this but won't blind buy it. Some cartoons should remain cartoons, with their original actors/actresses.

I grew up watching the cartoons and in my late teens was pretty entertained by the Sarah Michelle Gellar movies a few years back. I'll probably give this a try on netflix... but the actors... boy do they all look out of place except Velma...

There is no way that I will be buying (or renting for that matter) this crap. I think the original cartoon is okay, but the latter shows and movies were lame.

My 5 year old will love it. I think they are going to show this on Cartoon Network in the fall.
