Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

Just a heads up in case anyone's interested- Second Spin has a handful of OOP WWF titles in stock right now (used, obviously):

Invasion 2001
No Mercy 2001
Summerslam 2001
Unforgiven 2001
Undertaker: This is My Yard

Nothing terribly hard to get, but some good deals none the less (especially No Mercy 2001).

Yes, I completely forgot about that one!

Add the Thrillseekers (Jericho/Lance Storm) vs. the Heavenly Bodies from the 8-05-94 Smoky Mountain Wrestling show. Jericho wrestles with a BROKEN arm and guts his way through.

I too spotted the XX Slimline verision, WM22 & Word Life for 9.95 the other day when looking for extreme rules. I'm heading out tomorrow to grab Extreme Rules, and hopefully will find an early put out of Allied Powers.

And I wish I hadn't sold what it was packaged with back then on the bay. I made a profit, but didn't realize how rare it'd be.

I can't stand the new DX.

It turned out the Unforgiven was the one-disc version

Does anybody have the Blockbuster versions of Backlash, ONS, GAB or Unforgiven for trade/sale?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

I know there's not a lot of people that watch stuff other than WWE on here, but Ring of Honor is having a $5.00 DVD sale and you get 20% off your whole order. It's mostly FIP, Best of DVDs, and Shoot Interviews, but it's still a sweet deal. The Joe/Punk shoot is actually $5.00 for the first time too. The Lance Storm one is great too and the Jim Mitchell one is hilarious.

So do I, he was funny lol
TNA should use him as a manager for Beer Money or soemthing, as they already have Mick Foley & Jeff Jarrett as on screen authority figures. Why do they need 3 for 1 roster?

If you bought the "Legends Collection Volume 1" FYE Tin Edition, you'd have paid $19.99, but got a $10 rebate, making it $9.99 for 3 dvds- Pillman, Hart, & Jake The Snake DVDs. FYE obviously broke down a number of the tins and are selling the DVDs seperate, makes a lot of sense $$$ wise!

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

My gf got me Royal Rumble '09 walmart steelbook for my birthday. It was dented to the side, but I straightened it out, and the disc was loose, but was relatively scratch free. Other than that, the case is in perfect shape, and I'm glad I have it to put next to my WM 25 steelbook. I'm very excited to watch it again.

When did they offer a $10.00 rebate? Was this right when they first lowered the tins to $19.99?
(orginial price was $39.99) and was in store only or was it online only for the rebate? I had to pay
$19.99 before tax - in store and didn't get a rebate. Still a pretty good deal without the rebate.

LB...

Right now in store, they're 19.99 with a 10 dollar rebate.

I bought them for 19.99, no rebate, and sold the older ones I had as a lot on the bay for $130-140, so I got all new DVDs, plus made some nice $$$ profit!

They've also lowered Hell In A Cell with the Taker & Kane busts down to 44.99. They'll end up 19.99, it's only a matter of time, then I'll swoop in and add them to my collection

Don't get how Batista is getting a DVD but Jericho still hasn't had one yet...does WWE think a Jericho DVD won't sell well or something?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

Do they ever release a DVD of one of the company's top heels, aside from maybe Edge? Despite all our talk, I can't say that being a "mainstream" wrestling hit on DVD. I mean, if only because of how many kids are watching.

I'm trying to think of DVDs released while someone was heel:

- Twisted Disturbed Life of Kane
- the first Ric Flair set
- McMahon

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

Okay, so I guess it's not out of the question. Maybe they figure Jericho has so many good matches they might as well wait until his career his over.

Or they just hate him.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

The Jericho release will sell regardless, but since Jericho is one of the few wrestlers that has control over his promos and matches, maybe he wants the DVD release done to his liking (i.e., the inclusion of Benoit matches).

I think the Brock Lesnar DVD was released when he was a heel. For sure, one of the many Triple H dvds released in the WWF days may have been when he was still a heel.
