Today's receivings:
-Trish Stratus: COLLECTOR'S EDITION!!!!
-Wrestlemania XV
-UFC 45, 46, 50
Where are you getting those Shimmer DVDs!? I'd buy them in a heartbeat for that price! Be prepared for low production values and very small crowds (like 100 people) at those early shows, but the in ring product is second to none in woman's wrestling...

For those that are interested ROH is having another $5 DVD sale + 20% off the whole order. There is a couple good best ofs like Spanky (Brian Kendrick) and Christopher Daniels. Also the Joe/Punk shoot interview is on for 5 bucks and it's worth ten times that price cause it's so hilarious.

To give you some perspective on my wrestling DVD buying habits:
I was a big fan of WWF growing up in the very late 80s/early 90s, I then discovered ECW on a local philly station, when it was on at 6pm ish during the week. I followed ECW up until the 3rd last ppv. I was then involved in a internet wrestling radio show and went to a lot of area shows. I kind of dropped out of that scene as other things in life took precedent (i was also a little burned out on wrestling in general). Since then I don't watch a lot of current wrestling.

I am a huge mark for gimmick matches and battle royals, so I'll usually buy any such compiliation, which is why I bought the Royal Rumble Anthology and kept up with buying the Rumble DVD every year. It also kind of gives me a yearly update on where WWE is in general.

I also own the old school ECW releases, and will probably buy any old ECW stuff that gets released in the future.

Based on the strength of the Rise and Fall of ECW I am also a big fan of the documentary sets. I both the WCW sets and Families of Wrestling. While I tend not to buy any wrestler specific releases, I have borrowed a few to watch the documentary piece.

Just got around taking advantage of ROH Store's sale. I just bought the Straight Shootin' with Samoa Joe and CM Punk for five bucks (10.95 with shipping). I'm stoked on seeing it.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XI

i wish all the matches and moments from the smackdown dvd were uncut and shown as they were on tv instead of voiceover opinions and clipped segments, i much rather would of liked the top 50 moments all shown full

but there are some great matches shown in full and great moments, good dvd but a little bummed

I do actually. I say that if an old school WWF/E video was never released on dvd, may as well have it on vhs. I have about a dozen old WWF Coliseum video tapes. Including "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's Greatest Hits, a few Best of the WWF Volumes, Hulkamania 2 and some others.

I use to collect wrestling VHS from WWF and WCW. I had a whole bunch of rare tapes including an ultra rare original WCW Bash at the Beach 2000 that was mint condition. Also a bunch of compilation Coliseum videos (with the large size box) and several dozen ppvs.

I transferred my whole WWF/WCW tapes to DVD, took me a while to do it (around couple of months when i had free time). Printed out custom DVD covers as well.

I sold the whole collection couple years ago to someone for an offer i couldn't refuse

silvervison has updated the match listing to include this, in place...

WCW Championship Match
Hulk Hogan vs. The Giant
Souled Out January 25, 1997

Thus, making every match on this set a first timer to dvd

Went to TRU today and they had out the SummerSlam DVD, however when I tried to buy it it came up as do not sell before 9/22.

I can confirm though that the pre-show Diva battle royal is on the DVD as a bonus.

Does anybody know what FYE is charging for that Smackdown DVD bundle ad if they have a rebate for it? If the price is right, I might bite on that one since I don't already own the Raw 10th Anniversary DVD.

I highly recommend watching this immediately once you recieve it. It's a very interesting look at their trilogy, and they tell some really great and funny stories.

Yes, I was there today and all they had was the regular dvd with the Lenticular cover.

Does anyone know if FYE actually released "The Best Of Smackdown" 2-pack bundle? Can anyone confirm?

Awesome choice! It's really interesting and funny. CM Punk's impression of Homicide is absolute gold!

I own almost every Straight Shootin' DVD and I watched most of them, so if you decide to buy more, I can give advice on some other good ones. Here's a few that I enjoyed:

Corino
AJ and Daniels
Cornette and Pringle
Lance Storm
Samoa Joe (alone)
Any that have Cornette are good, actually...

The ones with Jim Cornette and Bobby Heenan are pure gold. Especially Vol 3 where they are at Cornette's house looking at his wrestling memorabilia + a sit down with Heenan (what more could you want - THE two greatest wrestling managers EVER!)
