Rumored Release - Futurama: The Complete Collection (Bender Head Package)

Re: Rumored Release - Futurama: The Complete Collection (Bender Head Package)
You can get the seasons for cheaper now, but $35 a season + $15 a movie isn't that bad.
Also, the Dollhouse preorder crashed FoxStore.com and I would be surprised to hear that Dollhouse is more popular than Futurama, not to mention the exclusive is way cooler.

I just wish I knew someone that was going to Comic Con. If I did, I'd be all over this.

These sets are not moving very fast. I would be surprised if they sell out the 500 even on the last day at ComicCon. I bet they eventually put the remaining copies up on Amazon for a reduced price.

I suspect it's less the price and more the fact that you have to attend Comic-Con to get it. It may be expensive, but if it was available to ship I guarantee there's 500 people into Futurama enough to buy it.
Droidguy, you are going to share pictures of the actual set when you get yours right?

Yeah I'm trying to find someone going to Comic Con to pick it up for me and then ship it to me.. If Comic Con themselves would ship, I would have already purchased it.

Same here. Would have bought it in a heartbeat if they would have shipped it. Maybe we'll see a general release later this year. The press release seems to indicate that will happen.

My only concern is, will the later release be in the Bender Packaging. If so, I can hold off as I don't need the letter signed by Groening and Cohen or whatever else it comes with. My main interest is the Bust (it'll look nice next to Caesar, Jack Skellington, and the T-800).

I'm going to continue to hope that Amazon doesn't cancel it's preorders.
Mine still shows as waiting for stock.

Hmm...Problem here is that the DTV Movies included in the set are on DVD and a lot of us have it on Blu-Ray also...

Well, as long as it isn't cheaper than the Comic-Con one, since I already paid for it...
Still, I'd like to know if there's some sort of difference between the Con version and the retail version.

Re: Rumored Release - Futurama: The Complete Collection (Bender Head Package)
$200 for the Oct. release seems way overpriced to me. Especially with Amazon's sale of vol1-4 for $43 today. The movies are already overpriced as it is, but I would say this set won't sell at all unless it's $120 or less MSRP with a street price under $100.

The difference will probably be the hand number letter from the creators and that's it. The packaging and discs will be exactly the same.

I actually like how the DVD's are stored in his head, wasn't expecting that to be honest.

The DVD's really should have been stored in his shiny metal ass.
Pointless for me to own as I already got it all...but still pretty cool.

I am planning on writing a review for DVDTalk, since theoretically retailers will be getting a mostly-similar set.

TVShowsOnDVD is reporting that there will be a limited number of "Empty Bender Heads" for purchase for those of us that already own all the DVDs.

Personally, I'll be picking it up with DVDs because it'll be nice to have a separate set of DVDs; my Volume Sets have been heavily used and it'd be nice to have back-up discs.

He's right. The forehead is a little on the tall side, when compared with pictures of Bender from the show. But, they are storing 19 DVDs inside, so I guess they needed the space.
