Warner re-issuing snappers in keep cases
I see from some of the Recent Additions at dvdempire.com, that Warner is doing away with some more of their snap cases. Notable for me was 9 1/2 Weeks Unrated and The Last Boy Scout. Numerous others were there also. Click on Recent Additions and look under "Added on 5-26-09."

Warner and New Lines seems to have put a hold on releasing more. Wish more HBOs would switch. I still have about 150 Warners, 8 New Line and 40 HBOs to switch over.

If Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome isn't fullscreen only, I might switch that one out.
I wish Warner would do more "crossover" double features with New Line. The Last Boy Scout/The Long Kiss Goodnight would be an amazing disc.

DVDEmpire has posted the back covers, they all have the Widescreen versions of each film including Mad Max 3 & Leathal 4.
They are the exact re-issues of the preveous snaper case releases.

I would like THE HAUNTING and the Harryhausen films....its doubtful I would replace those with blu-ray if and when they ever became available....

Re: Warner re-issuing snappers in keep cases
I've been waiting years for Warner to re-release one of my favorite films Contact in a keep case.. but I've now about given up.. and begun waiting for a Blu-ray instead.

Mosquito Coast is another, but the new cover art is terrible. I don't know why changed it from the original poster.

the snappers do suck and was one of the reasons why I gave up DVD cases all together and switched to CD single jewel cases.

Now, I see on these boards that they're starting to change boxed sets with mutltiple hinges inside one case. Actually, that's a good idea and saves shelf space but a bad one if you're trying to have all your titles look onsistant.

If they are all in the single width cases, they will look consistent. Unfortunately they only seem to be rereleasign stuff in the slim cases, so if you bought the titles when they came out, you would have to rebuy them. Or buy an empty case and print a cover.

I wonder why the Road Warrior hasn't been re-released on SD-DVD. They remastered it and had a commentary for the Blu-Ray which was a very low key release. I assume this keepcase version is the same bad non-anamorphic transfer.

My Road Warrior with snapper case is 16:9. But Something's wrong with the audio, either is a very old disc, the back says copyright 1997 Warner Home Video, Or there isn't an 5.1 Dolby surround track on it, like the case states on the back.
