I know they were renting Chapter 27 around 3 months (something crazy like that) before it's release date. They also got JCVD early. With JCVD they were actually selling pv copies before it's release date.

I don't know anything about Che's retail release date in the US, but I do know it's being released June 29 in the UK (both parts).

Re: Che (Benicio Del Toro) comes out next week!?

the UK release is both DVD and bluray and since the films were shot with 4K 'Red One' HiDef cameras, I'm sure the bluray will look incredible.

Che Part 1 at Blockbuster

Che Part 2 at Blockbuster

Why doesn't Blockbuster have the release date on the DVD info page? I had to look under What's New > New Releases > Releasing Next Week to see that it was coming out Tuesday.

Well the region 2 version has both, meaning a 2-disc dvd with both parts or each part sold separately. I'm not sure why anyone would want to buy each part separately (well, maybe for different cover art)? But the 2-disc is cheaper than buying each part on it's own, at least according to Amazon.uk's pre-order price.

I would say the Blockbuster version will be 2 separate rentals, since it's going to be 2-discs regardless of the release they get.

Thanks for making the thread. I can't wait to see this movie and I haven't rented at Blockbuster in a long time (only buy), so I most likely wouldn't have known. I'm looking forward to the Blockbuster employee warning me that I'll have to read subtitles...lol

Re: Che (Benicio Del Toro) comes out next week!?

i would probably be 1 of the very few that would buy both parts individually to have both cover arts cause i'm weird like that, well that's depending on how much but if its only a few $ more than i will.

i'm planning to watch part one tomorrow night! i can't wait.

If this is true I will have no choice but to go rent these at Blockbuster. I've been anxious to see this film for quite some time!

^ I wouldn't say IFC is a shit company, it's the 'shit' agreement with the ever shitty Blockbuster that tries to prevent mass release of their films.

This was one of my favorite movies of last year. Not once did I check the time while seeing it.

Just saw Part One. Very solid film. I'm only hoping that Part Two will be just as, or even better than, Part One.

Wish it was available in Blu-ray.

DVDAf says Region B. I emailed Optimum to confirm, and I'll post their response when/if I get one.

Why are they being so cagey with the US dvd/blu-ray release for this?

It is an IFC release exclusively through BBV for rent.
I didn't know there was an ifc agreement with bbv.

total time is 271 minutes sheesh.

i wouldn't be surprised at all if Soderberg's next movie 'the Girlfriend Experience' will also be a blockbuster exclusive rental

Re: Che (Benicio Del Toro) comes out next week!?

Jeez, I really hope the Blu-ray is region free. I haven't even seen the movie yet but I'm sure that it deserves much better release treatment here in the U.S. than it's been getting.

Still, I will likely rent both parts from Blockbuster if that is going to be my only option right now.
