I just pulled out the PURE TERROR set (at the risk of being shot), and there are seven officially-licensed movies on here from the Crown library: Double Exposure, They Saved Hitler's Brain, My Mom's a Werewolf, Point of Terror, Satan's Slave, Terror in the Jungle, and Don't Answer the Phone. Of those seven, Double Exposure, Point of Terror, and Satan's Slave are all widescreen AND 16x9-enhanced. The others are fullscreen. Of the 43 other films in the set, many are widescreen, but no others are 16x9-enhanced.

Thanks, just curious.

I picked up the Sherlock Holmes set for 50 cents at a garage sale a few weeks ago, it's the one with 39 episodes on 3 discs, and they're in paper sleeves inside the case.

Tried to watch a little bit of one on my 46" screen, and that's just not happening.

Maybe if there was a sci-fi one with some old Academy ratio movies so I wouldn't have to worry about the 16x9 enhancement.

I have that set, but haven't broke into it yet. Bought it for the sci fi challenge, and never even had time to go through the sci fi classics set. I also have the Warriors 50 movie set, and a 20 film Spaghetti Western set

I'm pass this 50 movie pack distributor by Mill Creek in my collection and there with the double sided disc with an scratch and the fingerprint in both side. But I own 10 & 20 movie pack distributor by Mill Creek.

I have 3 of the fifty packs, Drive-In Classics, Chlling Classics and Pure Terror. I also have the 250 Horror pack, and I got all the Crown sets they did.

I also own a few of the old Brentwood sets, which is pretty much where these types of sets originated from. Back around early 2000 is when these first started coming out, with the 10 and 4 film sets. The difference between these and the Mill Creek are that it wasn't filled with the regular public domain titles but they did include some versions of films that weren't available anywhere else. One that comes to mind is one of the first Blind Dead films that was uncut.

As time went on, they started putting out sets containing more of the DTV ultra low budget horror films that looked like they were made by kids that finished film courses. Blood Thirst and Night Chills were like that. Before everything stopped, they put out at least a couple 20 film sets but those were filled with newer public domain titles, like Laser Mission.

I've been meaning to look at the decades ones (Fabulous Fifties, Excellent Eighties, etc) they just released but matching them to other sets for duplicate titles to see if they are worth getting is a chore.

I don't mind some duplication with Mill Creek sets...it's unavoidable. But I do have a limit.

I suppose I should fess up and reveal just how many I actually own. Some of them are from when they were known as Tree Line. I bought these when they first started showing up.

These sets can be useful in locating bad-but-fun movies, like "Horrors of Spider Island." I watched it in a bad transfer on a 50-of set, and ended up getting a remastered version from Something Weird. If I hadn't bought the 50-of set, I would have missed owning it. It is a delight.
