Ugh. I hope the Blu-ray doesn't get that too. But does get a full slipcover.

The card may be because some people can't read the "I Will Find You, I Will Kill You" clearly enough on the actual art and they think the quote will drive sales a bit higher. I didn't even notice it was there until just recently.

Perhaps they half-listened to all of us who were complaining about the possibility of a pencil or something getting stuck through the DVD, and decided a card was a good option.

I can add that the "glue" that keeps the card attached to the shrinkwrap turned out to be easily removable, it peels right off. It's that sticky goop that they often use to attach spec sheets on box sets and cardboard covers etc. So, philip74, atleast have comfort in the fact you can have the card unscathed for yours to keep.

nope, didn`t know and couldn`t guess because there was no smiley or likewise attached
anyhow, no hard feelings, i am just disappointed to spend extra bucks on a special edition of this great movie and then not even a slipsleeve.
has the bad economy caused studios to hold back on sleeves, or are they just becoming stingy and cheap?

well i guess the sense of these new cases is a whole huge different topic
many such efforts don`t make sense, probably just a studio scheme to charge
extra for "saving the environment"

i don't usually complain about packaging, but wow! is this the crappiest overall package to come around in some time.

i liked the card on front, but it was plastered to the shrinkwrap. i managed to get it off, but the Best Buy price sticker...no. had to use goo gone and that worked, but then what to do with nice card, plus the goo gone smell is pungent?

and the eco-friendly for a 2-discer is just sad. the case is so flimsy the clear plastic case was fraying which would harm the cover art. and the disc tray inside is so loose it doesn't stay in the rungs. horrible.

my solution:
luckily, i had an empty regular 2-disc slimcase and put in the discs. put the cover art in and then put the card which is pretty clean now on the outside of the cover art but within the clear plactic case of the keepcase. right now, it looks good and is sturdy and the card is nice emphasis.

but, what a damn, dirty hassle. you shouldn't have to go through that.

seriously, it wouldn`t have cost them an arm and a leg to put a slipsleeve
on a 2disc special edition of such a high caliber film!!

I just bought the 1 disc, I would have got the 2 disc but the fact that they don't even bother to make it a slipcover and that they put it in one of those weak eco cases made me not even want to buy the 1 disc. I wont be buying many new releases with this crappy packaging.. if they cant even give me a nice package why should I give $15 - 25 for new release when I could go watch it for $1 or free.
