Anybody know whats up with the Roger Corman titles

After New Concorde sold over to buena vista and we got some new disc in 2005. Now all of those titles are OOP as well. Any clue who has the distribution rights at the moment.

Sheesh. I hope whoever ends up with them this time gets "Rock n' Roll High School" out in its proper aspect ratio.

I didn't know the previous DVDs were wrong, what is it's proper ratio?

Re: Anybody know whats up with the Roger Corman titles

yah the original article i linked in the the death race 2000 thread said disney had it for 12 years, but i thought they may have sold them or something. I knew way back when it happened some of those titles wouldn't get re-released, but some of the prices on even the Buena Vista stuff is getting outrageous.

Re: Anybody know whats up with the Roger Corman titles

Looks like someone called

New Horizons Picture Corp

has set up shop on Amazon and is selling a lot of out of print Roger Corman DVDs for low prices. They appear to be legit with lots of positive feedback. Many of the most sought after titles (ie. Black Scorpion TV Series complete collection, Slumber Party Massacre) are out of stock, but they still have some good ones available.

Re: Anybody know whats up with the Roger Corman titles

Thanks for the link Perkinsun Dzees!!

Went ahead and ordered Sorority House Massacre 1 & 2 for around $34 shipped. I've been wanting those two for my collection for quite some time but never willing to pay $30-35 a piece for them.

Earlier this year I found Slumber Party Massacre 1-3 for $15 total Used at a local Mom and Pop DVD/CD/Vinyl store.

Re: Anybody know whats up with the Roger Corman titles

Wow, I already got a shipping notice for the titles I ordered.

I'm so happy to have to chase these down anymore. Price point was perfect for me.

Re: Anybody know whats up with the Roger Corman titles

I would love for them to put out a proper dvd of the Fantastic Four movie from 1994. Infinately more entertaining than the crap fest with Jessica Alba. Sure, the Corman one may not have the best acting, but at least the character have the right uniforms and Doctor Doom looks like he's supposed.

Humanoids from the Deep is a cool movie. I have an original copy on DVD. I won't be upgrading on this though as the original copy seems to be pretty valuable, according to another thread in this forum.

That is likely to change once the new version comes out.

Great news about Shout Factory's releases!

Piranha on Blu-Ray is sort of a surprise.

Re: Anybody know whats up with the Roger Corman titles

Thats great news. I saw something via twitter about Piranah on Blu-Ray and came back to this thread. Hope they run through a good amount of the library.
