Friday the 13th Parts 2 & 3 BD, Parts 4-6 Deluxe DVDs June 16th

From Dvdtimes. Looks like Parts 4 and 6 will have deleted footage as extras. No word if Part 3 on BD will include the 3D version, but it seems to have the extras that were included on the UK disc, and were missing from the R1 dvd. Still, I'm gonna wait for the full BD boxset at the end of the year.

Were the deleted scenes for Jason Lives part of the Crystal Lake to Manhattan boxset a few years ago? I can't remember.

Yeah, I suppose the "Slashed Scenes" could be the same stuff from the Crystal Lake bonus disc, but the "Severed Ending" on Part 4 wasn't on the old set.

Re: Friday the 13th Parts 2 & 3 BD, Parts 4-6 Deluxe DVDs June 16th

I doubt they put them back in the movie. I already talked to Adam Green about this, He said his commentary was over the theater version for 4. So it wasn't an extended cut or anything. They better fix The New Blood when they release it because it's really butchered & it could be so much better. Part 4 also had some deleted scenes in the previous box set. So I hope they are new, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same stuff tho....

Sweet. Looks like they put some good stuff together here. I know that some of the cut footage for Final Chapter is new, so that's a major bonus. I just wish they had announced them for BD as well since I won't be buying these on SD.

I'll buy them on SD again but it's pretty obvious they will release a box set soon after with all of these deluxe editions with maybe a bonus disc so I'll wait until then.

When I saw "Severed Ending" I assumed it was a throw-away featurette on the make-up effects of Jason's first demise. I don't think there is another version, is there?

Well, don't forget that Dan Farrands said that while going through the old tapes at Paramount they made "an exciting discovery", so I'm guessing this ending might just be that very thing.

One of my buddies did the features for 4-6 so I'll ask him and see if he can tell me what it is.

I bet they follow the same release pattern as they did before. Originally, they released all the single titles over the course of a couple of years before eventually putting out that box set with the bonus disc. My guess is they'll release the remainder of the dvd deluxe versions either this Halloween, or save them for when the remake's sequel hits theaters. Then, a giant box set when that film makes its way to video.

They'll want to drag out these releases as much as possible, just like they did before.

Thanks Paramount for your stupidity....I guess we can expect 4-6 on Blu-ray, what, once you all decide to re-release 7 & 8 on DVD? Then I guess we get to wait however many months after that for 7 & 8 on Blu?
Who am I kidding, like I give a crap....I'm not buying any Paramount owned Friday on Blu until they are all out and available in a box set.....

Coool, but I'm with you, I'm just gonna wait for the big box set they are gonna do later that includes deluxe versions of all the films. YOU KNOW thats gonna happen sometime as it's after all Paramount and they LOVE double dipping people.

I'm in for the Deluxe Editions for Parts 4 & 6. I do not own the box set so these extras look pretty good to me. The Adam Green menu thing sounds pretty stupid, I can't stand him.

Will IV have the deleted scene
Spoiler:
where Tommy and Trish find their mother's body
?
Still no Alice Cooper music video(s) on VI?!
I hope VI has the release trailer and TV ads, as opposed to only the teaser.

Oh, they most definitely will. Just watch as it'll add more extras to the series, and yet STILL not carry over everything from the previous box set (this whole thing concerning extras getting dropped from previous releases, along with certain extras on certain regions or formats has turned this into a nightmare).

Anyway, I MAY get the Blus for Parts 2 and 3.

From fridaythe13thfilms.com:

Friday the 13th Blu-Ray Boxset
By jasonsfury • February 9, 2009

Bloody-Disgusting reports that they have learned Paramount is planning a Blu-Ray boxset much like the previous boxset. Please read the following:

“This past Tuesday Paramount Home Entertainment released the original Friday the 13th on Blu-ray, while sticking parts 2 and 3 on DVD (again). We learned over the weekend that Paramount is already prepping to release a brand new box set including the first eight Friday the 13th films on Blu-ray. Much like the 2004 DVD release “From Crystal Lake to Manhattan”, the box set will include the first eight films, as Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X and Freddy vs Jason were made by New Line Cinema. No word on if they’ll be uncut or not - let us pray.”

Let’s hope for the goods on this boxset!!

Also from fridaythe13thfilms.com:

I guess the Part 3 BD will have the 3D version since it has 3D on the front cover.
