If I remember correctly it's with the director and Kane Hodder alone, there is also a commentary by Rob Hedden on part 8.

The "From Crystal Lake to Manhattan" collection had the following commentaries:
- Part 3 w/
- Part 6 w/ Director Tom McLoughlin
- Part 7 w/ Kane Hodder and John Carl Buechler (whom I remember talking a lot about the problems he faced with the MPAA and the fight to get the footage released eventually)
- part 8 w/ Director Rob Hedden

Are the slashed scenes from part 7 & 8 any good? Any extended death scenes?

The Deluxe Edition of Part 3 doesn't have a commentary at all, and if I remember right, wasn't the commentary for Part 6 in the box set different from the one on the Deluxe Edition?

I guess that means that none of the 4 commentaries from the box set were carried over to the Deluxe Editions.

What a way to stick it to the fans, huh?

No Commentary at all for Part III. Just a Trailer and the 3D Version.

Is it possible Paramount lost the rights to the tracks?

Yes the part 6 commentary on the DE is NOT the same as the box set. I understand why people would be upset about that, it doesn't bother me very much simply because I still have my box set, I like that the commentaries on the DE's are new and up to date. Can't see why they just didn't throw on the old commentaries too.

Also, what's up with Steve Miner not doing a commentary or anybody on part 2? Part 2 is the only one that doesn't have a commentary on it now. It's too bad.

Kind of a random post, but figured folks in this thread would appreciate it...

I'm watching the Cards baseball game on FOX today, and I hear a voice on a commercial saying something about suffering from COPD until trying Advair. I look up and immediately think, "Hey--it's Roy from Friday the 13th, part V!" (otherwise known as actor Dick Wieand)

I couldn't find a link to it online. Keep your eyes open for it...figured it would bring a smile to F13th fans.

The commentary on part 7 is okay, could have done without Lar Park Lincoln, but it had some nice insight. The commentary on part 8 was also okay, I think Scott Reeves needs to go away forever, all he does is goof around and adds very little insight to the whole thing. I think it would have been better with just Kane Hodder and Jensen Daggett or just Hodder himself. The making of's on both of them are also alright, the one on part 7 I think is 15 minutes and the one on part 8 is just about 20 minutes or a little more; the one on 8 is much better. I haven't watched the deleted scenes yet.

thanks. image and audio look crisp and sound good as well? i usually like the shorter docus if they are done right and with most if not all of the cast.

I've compared the images from both the 2002 and 2009 releases and Parts 7&8 look better on the new Deluxe Editions. Both are more brighter and sharper then the older releases. I couldn't really notice much of a difference audio wise for Part 7 because that had a 5.1 track originally but Part 8 sounds alot better. The deleted footage for Part 8 was that of quality like the recent My Bloody Valentine SE but very little gore sequences. I agree with what Monkees said above about Scott Reeves he was extremely annoying during the commentary. He was pretty clueless about the series and he didn't know that Kane went on to play Jason two more times after Jason Takes Manhattan.

Plus I think he didn't know anything about Jason X either, like he hadn't heard about the space movie. Just odd to me.
