eric bishoff said in a recent interview wwe contacted him about "rise and fall of wcw" he declined saying he never wanted to be a part of wwe's "history, saying vince and the wwe alter wrestling history to make them look better, after seeing monday night war dvd its VERY true
now what happens with the dvd, without eric that leaves a huge whole, imagine if heyman dropped out of rise and fall of ecw

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X
you cant tell the story of wcw without eric, thats like heyman not being a part of rise of fall of ecw, there were alot of other factors that lead to wcw's downfall, it wasnt "vince beat eric" it was alot more, but wwe fans are biased and play it down, fact is eric beat the "empire" for over 2 years and vince is still bitter cause his ego is so big, he needs to rewrite his own history
sad thing is lots of newer wwe fans belive this stuff and dont know how great wcw was, the nwo and cruiserweights were awesome at its time and broke new ground in wrestling and started the best era is wrestling
but whatever, wwe biased fans will believe what THEY want to believe, i think wcw fan or not don't be so biased and arrogant that you push aside the facts

I ordered a copy of the RVD TV DVD from RVD's site. I'm looking forward to checking it out, as I thought the trailer for his show looked interesting and I've always been a fan of RVD.

The pre-release version is signed... but only 1 disc. I'll have to look out for the 2 disc version in stores.

Got some info on the Wal-Mart Exclusive edition of WrestleMania 25 DVD.
It appears it will be the same 3-disc set but it will come with a mini version of the WWE Encyclepedia. I'll pass for a tin else where if released.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X
where is ecw, dudleys were ecw's most popular tag team and there were other great tag team matches, why not atleast have a hardcore type tag team match represented
would of liked to see another outsiders match as well, they were great back in original nwo
p.s.watch wwe bury eric and throw him under the bus and blame him for everything on rise and fall of wcw now that he backed out of it, sad thing is new fans will actually believe it

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X
Hi, new here.
Just wondering if anybody knows if the new Tagged Classics (No Way Out & Backlash 2004) does keep Benoit on the cover of the Backlash DVD. I know he's off on the cardboard that holds the cases, but I don't know if he's off the actual case. I was planning on purchasing it today, but I won't get it if he's not on it, as it wouldn't be the original.
Thanks.

you cant tell the story of wcw without eric, thats like heyman not being a part of rise of fall of ecw, there were alot of other factors that lead to wcw's downfall, it wasnt "vince beat eric" it was alot more, but wwe fans are biased and play it down, fact is eric beat the "empire" for over 2 years and vince is still bitter cause his ego is so big, he needs to rewrite his own history
While it sucks that Eric declined to be a part of the set, I think he's more pissed about not having the DVD showcase *his* version of history.
Eric has as objective a view of WCW history as Vince. I needed hip-waders to get through the sheer colossal amount of BS spewed forth by his book.

The tag team set looks alright, but I'm definitely going to pass.
And yeah, the only exclusive I want for WM XXV is a tin or steelbook.

Picked up a dozen UFC dvd's tonight at Sat Matinee-everything from 78 and before are $4.97, incl. the 2packs from 43/44-51/52, as well as Liddell/Couture Triology & Iceman feature. I know there's an MMA thread but a)I couldnt find it and b)I know there's a crossover so I figured you all would like to know.
To keep it wrestling related, out of 3 FYE stores, and 1 Best Buy, NONE had the TNA: Second To None Best of Tag Teams dvd. Guess I'll grab it from ROH.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X
In store, there were 4 or 5 of the C/L trilogy, I originally bought one with the regular cover, but when I took a look at my buys in the car I realized, and went back to exchange it for the lenticular. I stopped by 2 FYE's and they did have some UFC dvds for 4.97 but nowhere near the selection that Sat Mat had. I mean the only ones they didn't have from 43-78 were 70, 71, 74 (they didn't have 57 by itself obviously but they had the C/L trilogy).
So yeah check around your local Transworld stores, selection varies (I guess). One of the FYE's also had new UFC titles for $9.99 (late 80s) which I'll be grabbing soon!
EDIT: I just opened my Iceman dvd, and not only was the slip cover shrinkwrapped, the dvd hadn't been opened and the lenticular iceman card was included. Sweet.
Pics coming shortly.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X
ted turner turned down wcw's dvd also, wwe contacted him and gary shaw to be part of the dvd but both turned it down
at this point i would rather 3 disc's of the best matches and moments than waste 1 disc on burying eric and company and telling a biased story
without turner, eric, shaw, hogan, nash, golberg just to name a few how can u tell the story of wcw, all the key players during there 2 year rein of ratings are not there, just the cruiserweights like rey.dean.etc

Who's to say they will bury Eric and WCW anyways? Sure, McMahon and Co. won the war and like to rub it in every now and then, but you can't say they don't allow the stories to be told. Just look at the Legends of Wrestling Roundtables on 24/7, they're pretty good about being off the record and telling the truth.
