Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

wow, i get some stuff needs to be edited but some of that stuff is just lazyiness

and again why edit out the blood and the "wwf bites" i get wwe is PG, but that doesnt mean the dvds should be either, and edited out anti-wwe signs is just an ego thing for mcmahon

but why would they dub "oh yeah" from his nwo music, i dont understand, did savage trademark that phrase, why didnt they just leave the orginal music instead of dubbing, same with the flair music

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

The edits suck but I will live with that since we finally have a Macho Man DVD!

Complain about edits on the Macho Man DVD but yet you still all buy the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania & Summerslam Anthologies

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

i get some editing needs to happen, but most of the stuff edited on the macho man set is just lazyiness, and mcmahon's ego getting in the way

who cares if a "wwe bites" sign is in the crowd, big deal, i knew vince was could be a bitter angry man, but come on, he bought wcw 8 years ago, get over it

and im happy savage finally got a dvd, but this should of happened years ago, vince still bitter that savage took the slim jim ad revunue from him all those years ago, if he put his ego aside and give the fans what they want there would be less problems, hopefully when he is gone steph and shane don't get like that

I haven't seen either the sign or the blurring, but if the sign was using the WWF "scratch logo" (or a reasonably close proximity) then they might have had to blur it for legal reasons.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

It's one thing to edit out what they don't have the rights to such as logos, mentions of WWF, and theme music. It's another to completely edit out what they do have the rights to and for no good reason at all. WWE being TVPG is no excuse at all. A few years ago WWE was TV14 but that didn't stop them from putting out a great TVMA ECW DVD. Many people on this DVD including its main attraction are no longer with the company anyway. The only bad reflection this would have on the company is how much better the old is compared to the current.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

The reason for the sign blurring is not because it is an anti-wwe sign. It is because the fan actually wrote out the letters "WWF" which is a legal no-no for the WWE.

Could you answer a question for me? What is the aspect ratio of the show? Is it cropped to 4:3 or is it presented in 16:9 as it was aired on PPV?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

TNA really needs to start doing what WWE has done, working the disc to where it presents the show in both widescreen and cropped formats, depending on your TV.

EDIT: SilverVision is supposedly going to be revealing the details of a new DVD tomorrow, according to their Twitter page. They dropped hints at it saying it contains a Hulk Hogan match and features Mr. McMahon. I'm guessing this will be the listing for the Rise and Fall of WCW DVD, however they said they won't be releasing the DVD until October, so it might not be.

It's the Rise and Fall of WCW DVD according to their Twitter. They say a documentary with three discs, 20+ matches and extras.

Noice.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

I don't think anyone posted this here and it's old news (a few weeks), but Batista's getting a DVD:

I assume the release date will be moved to when he comes back.

I dunno, I don't think Batista deserves a DVD set because most of his matches aren't classics

All the extras will be all the times he's been injured.

If it's as much of as a spectacular trainwreck as his autobiography, I'd get it.

And once again Chris Jericho does not get a DVD

A Jericho DVD could be awesome: SMW, ECW, WCW, WWE - they have practically his entire North American career in their library.

That's awesome! i hope the documentary will be close to 3 hrs like the Rise and Fall of ECW which was around 2hrs 50 minutes.

Looking forward to the match listings, i have a feeling they will include the embarrassing matches like the "Finger Poke of Doom" or the *blank* on a Pole matches in 2000.

But i hope they include the rare gems like:

Sting vs. Vader (White Castle of Fear Strap match) - Superbrawl 3
Ric Flair vs. Vader (Thundercage) - Superbrawl 4
DDP vs. Randy Savage - Halloween Havoc 1997
Bret Hart vs. Ric Flair - Souled Out 1998
Randy Savage vs. Bret Hart - Slamboree 1998
Raven vs. DDP - Slamboree 1998
Chris Benoit vs. DDP vs. Raven - Uncensored 1998 (doubt it but would be great)
Bret Hart vs. Goldberg - Starrcade 1999
Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk (Texas Death Match) - Superbrawl 2000
Scott Steiner vs. Goldberg - Fall Brawl 2000
Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting - Halloween Havoc 2000
Sid vs. Scott Steiner - Starrcade 2000 (historical purposes being the last Starrcade main event ever)
Wargames 2000 - Nitro

there's more i wanted but those i consider the treasures.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

ya i checked silver visions twitter, said they have the wcw dvd details and will release them shortly, features over 20 matches and very diverse, lots of different superstars

they better release the details today, i dont see why they wouldn't, eagerly waiting what matches they picked seeing how there is so many of them to choose from

hopefully matches from all programs, saturday night, nitro, thunder, ppvs, clash, etc

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

i hope they focus on 96-98 period, some things i would like to see
-wargames 96 nwo vs four horseman
-bret hart in toronto tricking goldberg and pinning him with the steel plate on his chest
-bash at the beach 97 or 98 main event with rodman
-fingerpook of doom(just for its importance in wcw's downfall)
-ddp vs savage havoc 97
-ddp vs goldberg havoc 98
-a ton of extras with nwo taking over announcers in there firsr year
those are just some, fact is they need to do SEVERAL wcw sets to get all the good stuff on dvds

Chill dude, they'll get it up when they get the chance.

EDIT: Nevermind, they said on Twitter they won't post it this week.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume X

Here's what they've said on Twitter:

- Well folks the not-so-mystery DVD we've been given details of is Rise and Fall of WCW! 3 discs, documentary, 20 matches + extras.

- Very diverse selection of matches, Hogan, Flair, Jericho, Steiners, Rhodes, Sting, Luger, Windham, Guerrero, Malenko, DDP etc.

- We won't be posting full details this week, but there'll be more info about another DVD soon...
