I would take The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Extended Editions set - with all the commentaries and special features, I'm certain to be rescued before I got through it all.

A virtual set would be Mystery Science Theater 3000 - The Complete Series - a different movie every night and friends to watch them with!

i would say these qualify since they did have a slipcase that housed all three. good choice too!

wow i cant believe no one said the Kurosawa box set (any of them, preferably the one with the most movies in it). or the Coen brothers box set (region 2). life without the lewbowski not worth living.

haha or better yet one copy of riding in cars with boys so i would have a reason to kill myself and get it over with.

That one might be. But there is an actual Complete Set released in Australia or United Kingdom or both.

That brings up a good point. My island is in the South Pacific, so I guess my selection has to be region 3 (or whatever the # is there).

Easy, the Northern Exposure sets I have since they all come with tiny puffy jackets on them; I'm sure I can use tham as flotation devices.

sure you can! but only if you are about 8 inches tall

i dont have my personal answer to this, since im pretty non-comittal, but since quantity is a major factor here, has anyone mentioned this set?

That Criterion Set for sure, but since it's OOP and wasn't housed in 1 box (excluding the shipping box ) I think I'll go with http://www.amazon.com/90th-Anniversa...8634893&sr=1-2
