i hope they don't go with the "I Will Find You" on the cover, but Liam's image is very Leon-esque. looking forward to a release date.

Re: Taken: 2 Disc Extended Cut DVD & BD

This is absolutely a must buy for me. Hopefully it gets released early this summer. Damn, too bad the Blu Ray gets the better artwork. Not surprised at all the DVD release gets the Uncut version.

Here's a bigger version of the artwork from DVDactive:

http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/taken4.html

Anyone here actually shell out the $30-40 bucks for the R2 DVD or Blu Ray?

Re: Taken: 2 Disc Extended Cut DVD & BD

Anyone know what the features are on this thing. I'd actually love to hear a Neeson commentary..though..he may get boring. I think this is a neat little jump in his filmography.

I said this in the BD thread as well: did people not see the poster? I think the tagline is awesome, but I wish they'd gotten all of it: http://www.impawards.com/2009/taken_ver5.html

of course it fits and it is great, i just would rather a simple image of Neeson then any writing or words or reviews of praise, etc...no matter how apropos it is. i just don't find that particularly attractive on dvd case art work.

I agree. Looks awful with all that text. Just the title and picture would rock.

It should be called the "Set of Skills" edition.

Re: Taken: 2 Disc Extended Cut DVD & BD

This is a rarity, but I actually love both covers.

I don't have any problem with the "I fill find you..." text, but I do think that it should have gone above the star and title.

I wonder how "extended" the movie will be?

I got the UK DVD, and no it wasn't 30 to 40 dollars. The "uncut" status means the torture scene will have the spike jabbing reinstated, and the fight scenes will have a few more extra frames in them.

I never saw the theatrical so I can't say exactly, but there are differences mentioned on imdb.com.

As for the 2nd disc, I'm guessing it will have the digital copy,
and extras wise, most likely just the 3 short featurettes from the UK and French disc. I seriously doubt Fox would want to release it with a subtitled director's commentary....

The movie was amazing, Liam would give a great James Bond.

Re: Taken: 2 Disc Extended Cut DVD & BD

Specs from dvdactive no extra features on the Blu-ray:

http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/taken4.html

Fox Home Entertainment has announced 1-disc DVD ($29.98) and 2-disc DVD ($34.98) releases of Taken for the 12th May. Both will feature a 2.40:1 widescreen presentation, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. The 1-disc DVD will include an extended cut of the film and no extra material. The 2-disc DVD will include the extended cut seamlessly branched with Audio commentary with Director Pierre Morel, Writer Robert Mark Kamen, and Cinematographers Michel Abramowicz and Michel Julienne, a making of featurette, an Avant Premiere feature, and a Inside Action: Side by Side Comparisons feature which looks at 6 different sequences. A Blu-ray release ($39.99) will also be available with all of the above, plus a digital copy of the film.

Re: Taken: 2 Disc Extended Cut DVD & BD

I'd like to hear a Neeson commentary..cuz...this must be a huge boost in his career right now...I mean...it could've been a much lower film if not for his being an ultimate badass. Not that his career was in a lull, cuz it isn't it's just a huge suprise hit for sure...

Re: Taken: 2 Disc Extended Cut DVD & BD

When it says seamlessly branched for the extended cut, i take it we get both versions? Wish it had more from Neeson in teh way of a commentary as well. Glad to see he is doing Clash of the Titans next... cant wait for that one.
