^ Well I have been drinking from my box of wine , but that's neither here nor there.

Yeah, I just wanted to make sure that the botched subtitles weren't actually worse than the dub. I will not listen to the dub. I promise.

So, even though the Blu-Ray is fixed now, the UK is still the superior option because it is region-free, has the correct subs, and includes a director's commentary, right? And to those who have the UK version, is it American or British English? Call me crazy, but it drove me nuts when I watched a check disc of Oldboy that they used the UK subtitles with "arse" instead of "ass".

Whoa...yeah...never thought about it. Still thinking about getting that UK Blu. What type of English subtitles were they?

I ordered mine before Xmas and Amazon UK and it was the corrected version so you should be good to go from them.

I watched half of it and didn't notice any UK words and they seemed to be the same as the correct subs I had watched on the Netflix stream of it IIRC. I understand the commentary track on the UK disc is excellent, though it does not have the making-of featurette that the U.S. disc has (which was also very good, though short). Also there is no bookmarking feature on the UK disc if that's important to you.

I bought the corrected US DVD for $9.99, so I already have the featurette.

Anyone who is still looking for these, Borders has a special $7.99 display/table going on right now.

Picked a copy of the corrected release for my girlfriend for $7.99. Great price!

I'm assuming that this is the DVD price?

Is that a sale price? I'm wondering if the 33% off coupon will work on top of that price.

I'm not sure if anyone really cares all that much anymore, but I spotted a copy of the corrected Blu-ray at Best Buy this evening -- priced @ $19.99. I know it's kind of a moot point now since the UK disc has tumbled so low in price, but you might want to check it out if you don't want to import.

Re: 'Let The Right One In' US dvd subtitle issues

I wonder, with the remake coming out this year(ugh), if Magnolia will release a special edition dvd of the original? I would love to hear the director's commentary found on the import dvd,and a new full length documentary on the making of this film would be great.
Hopefully, if Magnolia does release a special edition, they will have the theatrical subs on it!

I think they've learned their lesson and will use the theatrical subtitles, haha.

Corrected Blu-ray copy found / purchased (actually bought / returned my "bad" copy I bought and never opened when it originally came out)

Best Buy for $14.99....they had 3 other copies, they were the old release so this still appears to be somewhat hard to find

Re: 'Let The Right One In' US dvd subtitle issues

For the non-special edition titles, I'm trying to only upgrade with BD releases that have significant improvement in audio, specifically only DTS upgrades.

So I am wondering if anyone has the original DVD and BD and can tell if there is a noticeable upgrade in the audio dept.

Thanks in advance.

If the UK blu-ray is region free, does that mean it's NTSC or PAL ?

Neither. Being a blu-ray, it's HD.

Re: 'Let The Right One In' US dvd subtitle issues

I just got my copy yesterday from Amazon. I was really worried that I would get the one with the inferior subtitles, but I was lucky and mine has the right ones. As to the dubbing, is it really as bad as I've heard ?
