they will be released on blu-ray, they have to wait till after ABC contract to air them expires before they can sell them on blu-ray

Warner Brother's owns the DVD rights to "Pushing Daisies".

I guess I'll wait til 'Castle' gets released before going the Netflix route. I'm curious to see how it is, but can wait til then.

I did catch one episode of 'Life On Mars' and liked it, so I'd like to watch that from beginning to end

Oh, Castle is actually 10 episodes. If you visit the Futoncritic.com and search for it, it mentions the episode order was cut from 13 to 10.

BTW, some of you may not be aware that Grey's Antomy and Private Practice had a few crossover episodes.

You need to watch them in this order for it to make sense:

Grey's episode 14 (only for the final act)
Private Practice episode 15
Grey's episode 15
Private Practice episode 16
Grey's episode 16 (the conclusion)

so Castle is staying on the air? only 1 episode has aired isn't that rather quick to even mention DVD...

It probably means that all 10 episodes are already in the can and that's why they are making it available for DVD. If it was still in production right now and since it's not a proven show like the others, then I doubt they would make the announcement so soon.
