Another update!

"Restored to the original broadcast versions with a new stereo soundtrack created from the original audio"

This sounds excellent!

Looks like the Rhino set will be crap compared to this new one now that they mention of orginal broadcast with new stereo sound!

I missed out on the Rhino sets and I'm looking forward to this especially with the broadcast episodes and stereo sound.

Sold! That is all I needed to see. The Rhino sets are going to be left in the dust.

I love Shout Factory. Those guys should be given a lot of props for putting in maximum effort with these releases. It shows...and that is why I buy them.

Although I did really enjoy the packaging for the Rhino sets....never had a beef in that respect.

Shout! has given us a lot of solid releases over the years...even though small, I really enjoy having Inspector Gadget and Heathcliff cartoons.

The Rhino sets were very creative with the packaging, but the video/audio needed some major work. They did a decent job, but the Shout set looks like a winner all around.

I agree, Shout has had some solid releases. I would love for them to get some more obscure titles that have complicated licensing/music rights (* COUGH * Batman), but very cool either way. (Fingers crossed Shout can step in and get the rest of those Rocky and Bullwinkle seasons out there)

I have the original rhino set, but this looks good and at a decent price. The packaging even looks like the original toy packages I think.

Maybe this also means we will finally see the full release of GI Joe.

Re: The Transformers - The Complete 1st Season: 25th Anniversary Edition 6/16/09

I will be ordering, along with the GI Joe complete set as well....

However, I gotta say, I prefer the individual season/volume set art I have seen so far to what is shown to be included in the complete TF set....too bad those are not being used inside the Matrix set instead of the rather generic looking red/purple case holders shown in the animation graphic on the order site...

So these are just pre-orders for this box set & the GIJoe set through these website at full retail? Then each set will be available anywhere eventually right? so there is really no need to preorder these now, they are not limited limited right ?

You couldn't make this just one question, right? You had to ask the same thing 3 times, right? Just repeat the same question over and over, right?

Re: The Transformers - The Complete 1st Season: 25th Anniversary Edition 6/16/09

so i got the set and have only watched the first episode and the extras.

the kids faces are blurred in the commercials (which was to be expected)

the big problem is that the documentary on disc 3 is formated incorrectly. Its coming out fullscreen and should be widescreen. everyone is extra skinny, and when they show a clip from the actual show its extra funny as you get an extra skinny box inside a box. I assume shout will fix this. I'm surprised no one is talking about it already.

Has anyone who bought the new Shout set who owned the Rhino sets watched any of it yet? Is it worth getting the new set? I haven't been able to find a review anywhere.

Looks like a good set. I may have to rethink my stance on perhaps picking this set up.

For those keeping score, apparently there were a few errors on the Volume 1 set that just came out:

Apparently the Complete series set that they have for preorder should have corrected discs. Also there will be a corrected set of season 1 avaialble at some point. Of course, if you already bought the set, and want the corrected discs, you are going to have to send the bad discs in at some point.
