Family Guy Volume 7 ----> 6/16/09

Tvshowsondvd.com is reporting that Fox will release Family Guy vol 7 on June 16th. Fox has the balls to put a list price of $39.99 for the 3-discs set.

I for one, will buy Family Guy again when the series end and the release the Mega complete set. It's a joke that Fox puts such a high price for a 3 disc set. They are really milking the cow with this franchise.

I'm not surprised by the pricing considering how much they wanted to charge for the Blue Harvest DVD release that I never bought. I always wait for the sets to drop below $20 anyway. The bigger question is if Fox will be jerks and release another Party Pack with this collection included. Seriously, I've never seen one show with so many re-releases. Still, I'll continue to support the show until it falls flat like The Simpsons did for me after season ten.

The list price of all the past Family Guy volumes have been $39.99 (the exception being Vol. 1, which has an MSRP of $49.99).

I think it's a joke that they release a new "Mega Complete (So Far) Party Pack" whenever every new volume is released. Especially since at this point, the show is like The Simpsons; Fox have learned their lesson after cancelling it twice, and will keep this show running for who knows how long.

Without exception, Volumes 4-6 and Blue Harvest within 45 days of their release have been on sale for at least 50% off at a B&M, usually Target. Volume 6 released at the end of Oct. was $19.99 in Nov and $14.99 in Dec at Target.

They usually use single layered discs to stretch it to 3 discs. As usual I will wait for the $14.99 sale.

Instead of making a thread, can someone answer me:

Is Blue Harvest on of the Volume sets? It was on TV originally right? So it should be or did FOX release it to make a quick buck?

Blue Harvest was considered a special, and was sold by itself, otherwise it would have been on vol. 6 of family guy i belive. Same as there probably going to do with there next star wars spoof " Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" on the first episode of the 8th season. Im also waiting for a big box set, i was lucky enough to get vol.1-4 for under $30, or maybe ill cave when it goes for under $20 depends on my money situations

Re: Family Guy Volume 7 ----> 6/16/09

Well, if the set is really going to be around 500 minutes, that would be a lot more episodes than have appeared on recent volumes. 500 minutes at 22 minutes per episode would be around 22 episodes, or 9 more than have been on the last few volumes. In fact, they haven't put that many episodes on any volume since Volume 2.

But looking at what episodes will be on it, and which ones are left to air this season, there are 18 episodes left in the current production season that haven't been released on DVD. I'm not counting Something, Something, Something Dark Side since I'm sure they'll release that by itself. They could air 4 episodes from the next production cycle, and that would get the total to 22.

It would be pretty cool if they actually caught up to the end of a season and starting releasing the volumes as season sets again after this.

Re: Family Guy Volume 7 ----> 6/16/09

I usually wait for the sale, but didn't like the slim packaging, so I picked up the Target exclusive for the box. I was really irritated when I found out The Christian Bale rant is edited out of the Episode Ocean's Three & a Half, and it's not in the deleted scenes either. I know they only aired it once, but thought it would make the dvd for sure.... Does anyone know what happened? I can't find any info on why they pulled it...
