Looking over the list, there are some real doozies. The Academy was laughably out of touch for most of the 1960's, and their 80's choices are pretty underwhelming as well. I can't believe The Fugitive was nominated for Best Picture in 1993. Wow.

I'll be the first to admit to owning them all, even Sunrise.

Bought the 40 or so that I didn't own already last year in anticipation of DVDTalk's Academy Award Challenge that just ended. Watched all 82 in chronological order over 27 days, perhaps 55 of them being first time viewings.

Wasn't nearly as bored or disappointed as I feared I might be. In fact, I quite enjoyed most of them.

I have all but 5. The five titles I don't have yet and want are:

Wings (1927-28) not released on dvd
Cavalcade (1932-33) not released on dvd
The Great Ziegfeld (1936) snapper
Mr. Miniver (1942) snapper
Slumdog Millionaire (2008) held off due to dvd problems

I was going to buy the two snapper movies, but when I saw Grand Hotel was rereleased in a keepcase, I've held off buying these, hoping they would get keepcases.

Nothing wrong with the films, not that I have seen them all yet, most likely films that really do not stand out to me.
