It's really a shame this series was handled on DVD so poorly. Even today it still holds up very well - despite the decade that has passed. Not to mention that everyone from a specific generation (probably ages 22-28) grew up watching this as their teen soap. There was a moment in the new "90210" were a twentysomething character was just disgusted that the 17 year-old was like "Dawson who?".

But anyway, I always wished that Warner Brothers would have produced the DVDs for this show. They would have handled it much better (at least in terms of quality) and I feel like they wouldn't have skimped on the special features either.

I have gotten complete sets before with scratched disks before(The Sopranos, Seinfeld), but the scratched discs played just fine everytime. Nince to know Sony is doing this replacement program. Its easier to stick to buying the season sets to avoid this problem.

I can't believe Sony dropped the ball on this release. This was one of the breakthrough shows that helped define The WB.

Yeah, but it's date and has limited sales appeal. The only reason we are getting it is because of Vampire Diaries (Kevin Williamson show) and retailers want to sell more complete sets at lower prices.

It's exactly the same pressing of the DVDs so in all honesty I'd just go with whichever option is cheaper.

I saw the Complete set for $85 at Fry's. I thought about it...than put it down.

can you or anyone confirm if the set has all the original music? The reviews on Amazon say there are still some songs removed. is it just the later seasons?

Too bad about this set as my wife would have loved to have it. She is still waiting for all of Beverly Hills 90210 to be released. I think there is just 1 more season to go-?

I think I might have been mistaken. I can't remember. I'll ask the wife if I think of it. I think even the UK edition had some changes.

If you can get back to the board with your wife's comments, that'd be great. I'm in the UK now and amazon.co.uk is having a good sale on their version. Even if some (but not all) of the original tunes are stripped off, it'd still be a better purchase than in Region 1.

"the original tunes are stripped off" if you're watching the episode in English. Changing the audio tracks to another language may be annoying at first, but you will get to hear the original music as if it was aired the first time. What a tradeoff!
