Lionsgate Home Entertainment have announced the region 1 DVD release of PUNISHER: WAR ZONE, which is set to hit DVD and Blu-Ray on 24th March 2009. Here are the proposed special features and box-art.

Single-Disc DVD - The standard one-disc DVD will include a Widescreen and Full Screen version of the film with English DD5.1 Surround audio and English and Spanish subtitles. The only extra is the theatrical trailer.

Two-Disc Special Edition DVD - Includes the widescreen version of the film, extras and a digital copy on disc two. Features include:

Anamorphic Widescreen
English DD5.1 Surround
English and Spanish subtitles
“The Making of Punisher: War Zone” featurette
“Training to Become The Punisher” featurette
“The Weapons of The Punisher” featurette
“Meet Jigsaw” featurette
“Creating the Look of The Punisher” featurette
Audio commentary with Director Lexi Alexander and Director of Photography Steve Gainer, ASC
Theatrical trailer
Digital copy of the film on Disc 2

My friend/co-worker, whom is probably the biggest Punisher fan I know, will love this.

I was a fan of Punisher until I stopped buying and following comics a while back. Was this movie any good? Better than the last outings?

It was better in the action and portrayal of The Punisher. It's story was weak, but more fun than the Jane one. It was an all out action film. I liked it..and I can't wait to buy it. I can't see it getting a sequel though unless the DVD banks. Cuz it was only in theaters for like 2 weeks here...

the only thing i really didn't like about this film was Dominic West's awful new york accent.

i'll be getting this, i enjoyed it.

it really tries to incorporate a LOT of different ideas (battle van, micro, soap) from different writers/eras of the punisher and just kinda throws you in mid-war on the mob - some more backstory and tying together of the disparate elements would've been helpful. however, i liked it for what it was, lots of good bloody violence, and will likely revisit on DVD/BR.

The only weak spot in this movie was Dominic West. He was God awful!!

I'm shocked that this didn't get an Unrated release. With all the blood and violence, I was so sure there was room for more.

I'm not sure if I will get this right away.

Given LionsGate's "Fuck The Customer Up The Ass" policy there will likely be one down the line.

This was something I was really looking forward to. I haven't seen the movie yet but the trailer I saw was absolutely amazing. I'd just prefer to see it in its full glory.

you are right, especially the redband trailer looked great!
unfortunately there are so many movies, where the trailers rock, expectations
are high and the films end up sucking big time :)

I'm pretty sure the earlier post was SARCASM because this movie has all the gore you could ever want - there isn't an unrated version because the MPAA didn't make them cut any of it out (at least from seeing it theatrically, I don't think you could ADD much more blood at all...)... Seriously.
