I think anything from John Hughes. He was arguably the most successful, influential filmmaker of the decade.

To me, the 80's means John Hughes (or John-Hughes-type) comedies, slasher horror, and the rise of the hokey action movie (Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Seagal, Norris). |
