Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 25th Anniversary Collector's Edition Box Set ---> 8/2/0

From thedigitalbits.com:
This is just a quick early post with a little something for you pizza-snarfing TMNT fans: Warner Home Video is releasing all four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films in DVD and Blu-ray Disc 25th Anniversary Collector's Sets in August (8/2 to be exact). It's hard to believe it's really been 25 years. Anyway, the sets haven't been officially announced yet but they will be soon enough. And here's your proof: Warner's official promotional website.

Edit: Actually the 4 films are coming!

I only own the Target 2 disc of TMNT, so I'll probably get these.

I'd be curious about the first two movies and possibly TMNT, but TMNT III was a horrible movie.

QFT. I only have part 2, don't know how I've went so long without the first but for a special edition looks like I can wait.

So they slap on "25th Anniversary" because of the characters? Are they going to release another 25th Anniversary in 6 years when its actually the 25th Anniversary of the movie?

I actually liked part III ... the cornier the better for the turtles, I say. What I really wish is that I'd bought the 1st issue of the comic when it came out. Or 20 copies. I had the chance ...

Nonetheless, looking forward to this.

It's the general 25th anniversary that's being hyped. They re-released the original first wave of TMNT figures. Remember the cartoon came out in '87, but they're doing it as a year-long celebration.

Let them do it. The original TMNT DVDs are old as the hills with no special features. I can't wait to see these in Blu-ray.

For anyone living in the Louisville, KY area at all (or anyone who might be traveling near us) on 14 April, they're doing a midnight showing of the first TMNT film at Baxter Avenue Theaters. I know it's a shameless plug, but I don't have anything whatsoever to do with the theater besides attending some of their midnight screenings.

And Kory, TMNT was a CGI film that came out in 2006 (?) that was designed as an in-continuity sequel to the 3 live action films. It's not bad, though I can't say it's a definitive Turtles experience.

I was in the same boat as you. had to do a quick imdb search to verify, as I knew about TMNT but didnt think that was part of the film series.

I'm taking a wait and see to this one. I already own the original three movies, so if there is nothing worthwhile on the new releases other than improved video and audio i will probably hold off until I get a blue ray player.

Already own 1-3 on DVD and TMNT on HD DVD (got it as one of my 5 free movies) so unless there is a boatload of new extras for the original 3 (which I don't really expect) then I'll just stick with what I got.

I thought the original series started in 1987, I thought that was the general beginning of TMNT, did the comics actually start in 1984?

EDIT: August 2, 2009 is a Sunday

Nice. I'm in for the BD set. I dug TMNT 1 and 2 as a kid, 3 is and will always be horrendous, and I've always wanted to see 4.

I already own the first one and TMNT, but I'll probably dump them and buy this set. I like having series in a box set anyway.

Little off topic, but did they ever release a box set of the entire original cartoon run?
