Direct-To-DVD Heaven (or is it Hell?)

3 New cheapquels are on the way
Legally Blondes on 4-28
Into The Blue 2: The Reef on 4-21
S. Darko: a Donnie Darko Tale on 4-28

Got to love the way Hollywood likes to milk moderatly succesful movies with these crappy in name only most of the time sequels

Though I admit I'm looking forward to that one.

I'm not too opposed to DTV sequels so I'll probably give them a rent.

At least you know what you're getting with direct to dvd.
I saw Starship Troopers 3 the other day and enjoy it... similar to the kind of dumb fun action flick the first was, however the 2nd is something we don't talk about in my house.

I'll probably just borrow S. Darko from somebody for s&g. I'm used to direct-2-video sequels by now. Sometimes there are even some good ones (If only Hellraiser 5 had bigger budget and was its own, non-Hellraiser related movie). But somehow I get the feeling I won't like it.

The Art of the War II
Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia
Without a Paddle: Nature's Calling

All in the last couple of months...

Not that this should be a surprise to anyone, but I hope you're all ready for ANOTHER American Pie DTV sequel.

American Pie: Book of Love

Begins filming next month.

I remember hearing about the Donnie Darko sequel but had no idea it was finished already. I'll give it a rent.

Re: Direct-To-DVD Heaven (or is it Hell?)

What ever happened to the Master & Commander sequel? It was announced by Fox back when Dr. Dolittle 3 and the Behind Enemy Lines sequel were announced.

As much as I want to see it, I am glad it hasn't happened. It needs a feature budget.

And I'll echo the Starship Troopers comment ... sure, 3 wasn't as good as 1, but it was definitely entertaining and passable (unlike the abomination that came in between).
