Sudden Death needs an upgrade now!

Anamorphic Widescreen with alot of extras.

If Howard the Duck and Street Fighter gets one, so should Sudden Death.

Who Agrees?

Yes it does, but Hard Target is more important.

Personally, I'd appreciate a Sudden Death upgrade before any other JCVD film.

Hopefully this relase will have it:

http://www.amazon.com/Van-Damme-Four...3771076&sr=1-2

I know it says 1:33, but Universal often sneaks in new transfers into these multi movie sets. The previous release had a Anamorphic Widescreen of Timecop, where I believe the single release was 1:33

Anyway, Im crossing fingers for this and Lionheart

Re: Sudden Death needs an upgrade now!

According to Universal's site it will be anamorphic in the new set (but Lionheart will not be). But we all know how reliable stuff like that is.
There was a thread about it the other day.

Straight from the Universal Home Entertainment website:

Looks like it will indeed be in Anamorphic Widescreen!!!

EDIT: Maxflier must have beat me by mere seconds!!!!

No double sided for me. Single release please.

I have to agree. I don't buy into these collections as I'm kind of OCD about alphabetizing, and would much rather prefer to have the titles individually spined.

Although I like to have every movie separate, the collections are just too cheap to ignore for me, especially for movies where I only really want the movie and don't care about special features.

I just keep a separate section for my multi-movie sets. I may have to pick this up as Sudden Death is one of my favourite Van Damme movies.

Re: Sudden Death needs an upgrade now!

Universal does this a lot. For those worried about flippers, in this case, I would think it would be single-sided discs with two movies per disc (thus, no extras). That's what it was like on some other recent Universal Quadruple Features. It's this fact that causes them to remaster the titles (or perhaps planning for BD releases) because with two movies a disc, the transfers need to be re-compressed.

What about Timecop?!

Timecop was also WSed, but unfortunately, it was in a different Van Damme quadruple feature. You'll end up with two copies of Hard Target and The Quest and two non-anamorphic films (Lionheart and Street Fighter).

Does anyone have pics to confirm this?

They reviewed one of the Universal Quadruple Features here on DVDTalk, the one with Trippin', CB4, How High and Half-Baked and they said it was two single-sided discs with two movies on each disc and zero bonuses.

Let's just hope Sudden Death gets a 2 Disc Special Edition release this year.

The first Van Damme 4 pack was 2 single sided disc. I picked it up the other day $5 used.

I wouldn't hold my breath. If it gets remastered for a Quadruple Feature that so far has been a solid, unbroken indication that the studio doesn't care to release it on its own. Street Fighter, for instance, was in the last Van Damme Quadruple Feature and was NOT remastered, because Universal just put out that new special edition of it all on its own.

I don't know what could warrant a 2 disc version of Sudden Death. Anything that needs to be said bonus feature wise could easily fit on one disc. Audio Commentary, Trailers, behind the scenes, How to copy Die Hard 101 etc.

This comes out tomorrow, anyone with the final word on wether it's truly anamorphic widescreen or not?

If Universal's website says it is, it is. I've been chronicling their WS remasters in the double/triple/quadruple features for awhile now, and their website is always accurate, unlike 20th Century Fox.

DVDEmpire has the back cover art up for the four film set. Basically, everything is anamorphic except Lionheart, which is still Full Frame.
