They don't want anyone seeing the winged eagle belt, I guess. I got my copy early and watched the first disc... Amazing. My favorite release since the Brian Pillman set. Piper vs. Orndorff is a classic.

I know this isn't DVD related, but it is WWE related, do you know if the new series of "WWE Superstars" will be shown in the UK?

It still not known yet. By the way, for WWE or any other wrestling question, we have a monthly thread in the Sports forum. We have pretty good discussions of all shows and PPVs.

Quick SNME DVD Note:
Jesse Ventura commentary is intact on the Saturday Night's Main Event DVD.
Picked it up about two hours ago.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
still not sure on picking up SNME, im not the biggest fan of that era, i started tuning in to wwe in 92, so i missed out on SNME, i find alot of that stuff a bit boring back then, it was more big man, but i love the macho man so im not sure to get it or not
i just find late 80s around the early mania's, lots of that stuff is a little hard to watch, does anyone know what i mean, if u grew up watching it i understand, but for other people

If you like Savage, I think you should get it. There is a handful of really good stuff with him on this release. I'm sure there are portions of the 3 discs that won't suit you, but I'd say it's worth it, and it isn't all just slow, big man oriented plodding wrestling here. There are some really good best of 3 falls tag matches too.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
I became a fan in '93, but I'm interested in the SNME set to see a whole lot of stuff that I haven't seen before, and stuff that seems interesting to me now, although I'm no major hurry to see it.

K-Mart is usually just as great with regular prices as well...and I find my local K-Mart is stocked a hell of a lot better than the Walmarts. (Plus, my local K-Mart is 5 miles away and the Walmart is 8 miles away.)

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter
-- As reported last week, World Wrestling Entertainment has plans to release a three-disc DVD set on "Macho Man" Randy Savage on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 entitled Macho Madness: The Ultimate Randy Savage Collection. As expected, several fans are skeptical of WWE releasing a DVD on Savage considering Vince McMahon pulled the plug on the project once before, but the company is legitimately going through with the release. Internally, the feeling is with the state of the economy that this isn't the time to kill projects they believe will make significant money, especially for petty reasons such as McMahon's personal feelings towards Savage. In other sign indicating the company's change of heart towards Savage, he is featured on the cover of the Best of Saturday Night’s Main Event DVD released this week

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
hopefully thats true, i doubt savage will be a part of the dvd itself, but even other people talking about him and putting his best matches on it would be fine with me, some matches would include
-his 2 great matches he had with warrior, wrestlemania career match and summerslam 92
-vs flair at mania 8
-a full disc about his wcw career, vs ddp, hogan, etc
if they go ahead with this, and a "best of wcw" dvd i would be happy
MESSAGE TO VINCE AND WWE-I WANT MACHO MAN AND WCW DVDS

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Amazon.com is listing the New 2 disc Choose Death: Necro Butcher Inside the Mind of Wrestling Madman as being discontinued by the manufacturer
That joins the XPW: Cold Day in Hell Blu-ray that amazon has not had in stock since release date.
Looks like Big Vision is having some problems with there releases. One can assume the necro dvd is being held back until The Wrestler comes out on dvd so they can maybe get people who might be interested in Necro's work.

K-Mart is a whole lot better than Wal Mart when it comes to WWE. The regular prices are usally only like 5 to 10 cents higher, but K-Mart always gets the Tagged Classics box sets where Wal Mart doesn't. And for the first half of 2008, K-Mart always got those 2 packs for the new PPV's with the 2008 and 2007 shows for only $14.99 each.
