Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

for thr guy who said anyone in stings shoes would do the same

um NO not true, some people have dignity and pride and hopefully sting does and does not sell out just for the cash, he never went to wwe even though they would of paid him great cause he knew they would destroy his character in the invasion storyline, if he does sign i hope its for the right reasons and not just to sell out like most people do

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

As a huge Shawn Michaels fan I have all his dvds that have been released on him and the ladder match dvd and Undertakers among others to make sure I had all his matches in great dvd quality that weren't on his own dvd releases. So when I saw the Greatest Stars of the 90's dvd listings and saw the Shawn Michaels matches that were on it I was stoked. These are all the matches of HBK's that I felt should have been put on a dvd of him, and was a bit upset that they didn't put them on his Heart and Triumph dvd. So this is definitely one dvd worth getting if you are an HBK fan!!

After having some just okay dvd releases in the past year I think the Starrcade, SNME and now Greatest Stars of the 90's dvd sets have given me a reason to wanna buy WWE dvds again!!

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

If Sting dose what Hulk Hogan has done on and off since 2002, he could have a few dream matches. I have always wanted to see him wrestle the Undertaker,
and him and Shawn Michaels could be one of those Big Icon Vs. Icon Matches,
as Sting was a young star in the early 90's in WCW, Shawn Michaels was
at the same level, if you don't count Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair & Randy Savage getting in his way from 1992. I can also see Triple H turning heel in the near future, so Sting Vs. HHH would be good, and Sting Vs. Jericho.

It was given away with Smackdown vs RAW 2009 - eBay will probably be your best bet now.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

Can someone post the SKUs of the 3 exclusive Legends of Wrestling DVDs or which ones they are on the Best Buy website? I picked up the box set from Wal-Mart yesterday and am looking to pick the other 3 up without making the 30 minute drive to my nearest Best Buy.

From what i know,

the ones in the Boxset are Volumes 3-6, the Best Buy Exclusives are Volumes 1-3.

I wouldn't say giving away since it sounds like it was free. That particular blu-ray was part of the Smackdown vs RAW 2009 Limited edition Gift set. The price was 20 dollars more then the game by itself, though I'm sure you can find it on sale until stock is depleted at places like best buy or walmart.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

KOCH is now listing a 2-disc WrestleMania 25 Blu-Ray for June 9th (also a 3-disc standard DVD with a bonus mini book). But still no listing for the Royal Rumble which seems to indicate that Blu-Ray will be a SilverVision exclusive It will be interesting to see if SilverVision starts releasing every show on Blu-Ray or just the "big" 4.

Aren't Blu-Ray's region free? And if so even if SilverVision only releases them wouldn't they still play on US Blu-Ray Players?

Also does Blu-Ray Players play any region as far as regular DVDs go?

Thanks.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

Unfortunately Blu-Rays are not region free. The difference with Blu Rays is that NTSC/PAL doesn't matter anymore as HD is a universal format. However U.S. players are Region A and UK players are Region B.

I'm pretty sure they're just releasing the Big 4, for now at least.

I remember last year KOCH didn't list the WM24 Blu-ray like a month before it was suppose to come out.

Strange thing is WWEshop is taking preorders for Royal Rumble DVD and DVD package but no Blu-ray version, so not sure what they're going to do.

Any word on whether or not FYE will have an exclusive tin for 2009 Royal Rumble?

Thought I would pass along this................KOCH, who is the WWE DVD distributor, has changed their name to "E1 Entertainment". The company has also released ROH DVDs as well as the women's wrestling documentary, "Lipstick and Dynamite". [Credit: Pwinsider.com]

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX

I guess Best Buy's website wasn't too backed-up with the Legends of Wrestling dvd's as I got 5 of my 6 today in the mail after ordering them last Tuesday/Wednesday. The only one I didn't receive was the Hogan/Backlund one.

Now that you have your order, can you please give us 100% conformation that volumes 1, 2, and 3 from BestBuy.com are the Piper/Funk, Andre/Shiek, and Hogan/Backlund discs?
