Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Anyone know the cheapest first-week deal for the SNME dvd? http://entertainment.sears.com/Movie...d=WOWF94747DVD Maybe print out the sales page of the DVD on Sears.com on the day of release and pricematch. The April 14th release of Greatest Superstars of the '90s is also listed on Sears.com for $18.89. |

Unfortunately Blu-Rays are not region free. The difference with Blu Rays is that NTSC/PAL doesn't matter anymore as HD is a universal format. However U.S. players are Region A and UK players are Region B.
But for the feature themselves it is moot. |
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Question for those who bought the Starrcade release when Sears.com had it around $19 that first week. Did anyone printout the price from Sears.com and pricematch it at a B&M, or did you just order it direct from Sears.com?
I'm trying to figure to best way to go about getting the Best of Saturday Nights Main Event release next Tuesday. |
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Just ordered Wrestlemania Anthologies Vol. 1-3, XIX, 21, 22 & 23. As well as the original DVDs for XV & 2000. The rest of the manias I already had, anyone have a list of edits from the original airings for every mania?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
just a reminder, the next 2 US Tagged Classics came out this week. No Mercy 03/Survivor Series 03 & Armageddon 03/Royal Rumble 04. Sorry about the glare from the flash.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
I'm conflicted about that second set. I've always wanted to pick up RR '04, because HBK/HHH match and the rumble itself, but Armageddon '03 stunk to high heaven.
BTW: Does anyone have any word on whether or not RR '09 will have an FYE-Exclusive tin? |

Wow, they're rereleasing Benoit's Rumble win? Didn't take long for them to ignore that ban. I know it would have messed up their anthologies to take him out, but this they could have done without. |
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Heads up... Wrestlemania DVD Anthology sets are on sale at Amazon for
$27.99 each! Awesome deal... 60% off! |
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Amazon also has the individual releases of WM 19, 21, 22, 23 (both the 2-disc and 3-Disc) and 24 priced at 60% off retail.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Yesterday when I said I bought those anthologies and the separate mania's they were from amazon.com, maybe I should have made mention of the sale. Each volume at $28 is crazy, comes to around $5.60 per disc, so its $5.60 per wrestlemania...WOOO!
EDIT:Original copies of XV was 21.95 and 2000 was 31.99 (I couldn't wait until I found them dirt cheap, so I just gave in to temptation. |
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
I would price match with Sears, but the nearest Sears is pretty far away from the Best Buy I go to. So I don't think they would accept it.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
I hope that they bring out a Best Of WCW Nitro DVD, and they should include the last episode of Nitro and that night's RAW is WAR as an extra.

Here's the cover for the Jeff Jarrett DVD from TNAWrestling.com

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Excellent-looking cover, although I'd prefer it without the guitar, and I can't fathom that set selling all that well. Jarrett getting a FOUR DISC set while Angle getting a two disc one irks me. and Benoit's been featured on Tagged Classics U.S. releases before - he was in the Rumble '03/NWO '03 one that I have, and I'm sure is on others as well.
|
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
I agree. A four-disc set is ridiculous. I really do like Jarrett, but there's not 4-discs worth of matches for him.
|
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
I think 2 of those disc are interviews/documentaries. I heard something like 14 hours worth of interviews were filmed and then 2 discs of matches
|
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
As far as Benoit goes, I believe the WWE will not release anything EXCEPT his ppv matches, and then only on the full ppv release (i.e. no compilation releases). I'm not sure how many ppvs had interviews/storyline exposition with Beniot but I wouldn't be suprised if these are edited out and all that is left is the match itself. This isn't official or anything, just what I noticed the WWE seems to be doing.

I don't think WWE edits him out in the PPV releases (Anthologies) but one edit i know they did was in the Legacy of Steve Austin DVD, when HHH and Austin where in the back they edited out Benoit attacking Austin and dragging him to the parking lot, it just skips all that and goes to HHH saying "Austin, where are you?".
