Found the RR steelbook at a Wal-mart in Chattanooga, TN. They had 3 steelbooks and 2 standard copies.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
My local walmart got the Rumble steelbook. Weird that it seems to be a delayed release, hasnt the dvd been out for at least a month before we started seeing the steelbook in the us?
Anyone else notice a problem with the audio on the disc? Specifically the announcers voices being extremely low, almost to the point that they are drowned out by the sfx and music and crowd noise. Also noticed when Vicky was introducing Edge, the audio and video were way out of sync. After the Hardy/Edge match, the problem seemed to disappear. Maybe I got a bad disc. |
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
the Monday Night WArs DVD sells for next to nothing on Ebay....I sold my friends copy a couple of months ago and I think it went for under $3

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
I'm wondering if the steelbook is a sort of knee-jerk move by WWE. Remember that they advertised a tin for FYE stores for the Rumble, and they also showed a steelbook case instead of a tin case in the ad for that release. However, they were never released to stores.
My thinking is that WWE had all these steelbooks for the Rumble due to whatever issue they had in not releasing them at FYE, so they just shipped them out to Wal-Mart stores. I'll be interested to see if there are any copies at the store I work at when I go to work tomorrow. Side note, while looking for the steelbook today, I found a VHS copy of No Way Out 2000 for $4 and a near mint DVD copy of ECW Path of Destruction for $6 at my local used DVD/video store. |
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Why VHS when you can get them in the 'Tagged Classics' series? :)

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Just noticed Amazon has "WWE Allied Powers: the World's Greatest Tag Teams" on their website with a release date of July 14 (this must be the set JR made reference to in a recent blog).

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Just what we need, a DVD with wall-to-wall Lex Luger and British Bulldog tag-team matches.
All kidding aside, it will be interesting to see how well the release is received. With the current state of the tag team division - it's a joke - today's audience doesn't know what it's missing. Hopefully WWE won't overlook a team like Demolition, a team that, for one of its championship reigns, held the title for 478 days. Or Strike Force, Money Inc., or non-WWE tag teams like The Midnight Express, RnR, etc.. Since I love tag-team wrestling, what matches (WWF/E, WCW, etc..) would you like to see included. To my recollection, The Harts vs. The Steiners (from CHV's Wrestlefest '94) hasn't appeared on any DVD release yet, so that would one I'd like to see on DVD. The Rockers vs. The Brainbusters HBK/Diesel vs. Razor Ramon/The 1-2-3 Kid (from Action Zone) |

Am I the only one who thinks the WrestleMania Anthology digipacks like 1-5, 6-11 aint as bad as people say?
I recently purchased them and they dont seem that bad? |
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Those aren't the bad ones, Wrestlemania's 15-18 are the terrible ones with the blurring involved.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Thankfully I have the original 15-18 DVD's :)

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Does anybody know if WCW Bash at the Beach 2000 was ever released onto DVD? Looks like it sells for a ton on eBay but I can only find it on VHS. Anybody have the scoop? I don't believe any WCW footage (except the Starrcade DVD) were released to DVD, but since it was near the end of WCW I thought I would check if anybody knows differently. Thank you.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Thanks, that's what I thought. I've seen that video on VHS sell for over $500 in the past, so it must be a rare one. Lots of the sealed videos seem to go for a lot of money on eBay too. Are they that rare to find sealed still?

Some people managed to snag copies before the pull from the shelf and couple of years ago someone actually was selling a brand new copy sealed, it went for about $700 US. But the last WCW ppv on VHS was Fall Brawl 2000 which is another rare one. Any sealed WCW videos are rare. I hope since the sales of the Starrcade DVD were doing well, it encourages WWE to release full ppvs in Anthologies. Since i read that Survivor Series Anthology would be released this year, not sure what else they can release after since i doubt they will put out the In Your House sets. But likely King of the Ring Anthology will be out after Survivor Series. |
Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Found 1 steelbook in my local Wal-Mart. 5 regular cases and the only 1 steelbook.
