Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
If any of you have a Half Price Books nearby, this weekend (actually 2/13-2/16) the stores have a 20% coupon that can be used on most, if not all items.
I think it is only a printable coupon sent to those who are on their e-mail list. (You can probably find it on the Internet, somewhere.)
I was able to pick up the SummerSlam Anthology in the cooler for only $79.99 after the discount.

a Chris Jericho DVD would be great, but too bad they won't include his matches with Benoit especially at Backlash 2000 and Judgment Day 2000 which were both awesome! Also Austin/HHH vs. Benoit/Jericho match from RAW in 2001 was great which will be another omission from WWE.

And TLC 3: Jericho & Benoit Vs. Edge & Chrsitian Vs. Dudleyz Vs. Hardyz, Which would have been a great match for the set. I hope that alot of his 2002 Smackdown! stuff is on there. His 2 matches with Hulk Hogan I would like to see on the set, as well as, his Steel Cage match with Edge in July Of that year.
His 2002 stuff would be great, i think the Edge/Jericho Cage match where Edge injured his shoulder and Mysterio flew off from top of the Cage on Lance Storm, Christian and Test. That was a great moment!

It would be funny to see how they would explain Randy Orton's 1st major title win............if he gets his own DVD. THAT WOULD BE A GLARING OMISSION.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Does anyone have a clue about whats going on with the survivor series anthology? im beginning to doubt that it will come out this year cos i think we would have heard about it by now.
I've got the first couple on vhs and they are just unwatchable with all the editing of the matches, they even edit some eliminations, thats why i've been looking forward to this anthology the most as it would have all the matches from the ppv version, the coliseum video versions probably cut out a good 30-40% of the ppvs of the first 3-4 survivor series events.
Has anyone heard anything?

i think it will be out this year, most likely November. I remember reading last summer on a website that said they are working on a Survivor Series Anthology due out in 2009.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
I heard somewhere that later this year they will release a Jeff Hardy DVD. What is the point? Last year him and Matt Hardy had there DVD released, and so why would Jeff need a new DVD? I could understand if it had been like 4 or 5 years after the 1st release like Ric Flair's, Stone Cold's, Rey Mysterio's, Shawn Michaels e.t.c...

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
I think there's two issues. First, it really is highly debatable if the Nitro/nWo/SD! sets would make more than the Hardy disc anyway. Second, Hardy couldn't be hotter right now and they get the chance to tie in the DVD on TV for heavy promotion. The other sets will probably sell whatever they will sell if they released it today or 3 years from now, the Hardy fanbase really can't get much higher than it is now so it should be a strong seller.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
with the success of the Starrcade DVD, i could see WWE release more WCW themed DVDs. WWE knows they can make money off WCW so i don't think they will stop.

1987-1992
1993-1998
1999-2004
2005-2009?
I ask cause I got 1987-2000 on Tag Classics and the original 2001 DVD so I will just need to pick up the last volume?

Most likely they'll release a complete set and then separate volumes. So you'll probably have to wait a while longer.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume IX
Well as long as they do in Europe like they did with the SummerSlam one where the separate volumes came out at the same time as the complete set, I'll be happy!
