Re: Twilight - 2 Disc DVD Edition ----------> 3/21/09

Hey if anyone is heading to FYE to buy one of those limited edition Photo box and dvd holders would someone pick up an extra I would pay all costs (item, tax,shipping,etc.) or I could trade Party Of Five season 3 sealed for it. Let me know. I will also be posting this is the exchange forum. If anyone doesn't like this post here please let me know and I will delete it.

Pretty sure both the DVD and Blu-ray will come with a slip cover.

So blockbuster is getting the blu-ray as well? For $25 on release date I might have to drive over to blockbuster at midnight... too bad the nearest one is now 20 minutes away

Yeah, looks like the BluRay is coming. Sorry, did I miss something about BluRay in the US?

Thanks. That's just plain weird how they can make this early exclusive at 2 retailers.. I checked the major retailers here in Canada and they list the BluRay release on the 21st.

Sorry, I know this may have already been covered, but I just noticed this is a Saturday release, is that going to be the new trend? Is there any regulation with what day (Tuesdays) you have to release something? Just curious, thanks for the help.

Studios can release movies any day they want. They chose Tuesday for a reason. However, they can break and move things around as Summit has with Twilight and Disney has with a few of their titles (Bolt, Bedtime Stories).

I think the main reason for Twilight being released on a Saturday is to allow a lot of retailers (Hot Topic, Borders, etc.) to hold midnight release parties for all the teenage fans.

Harder to do that on a school night.

I really like the Borders Exclusive version, minus the fact it doesn't hold itself closed. It was nice to see at least one Exclusive for this film that had drastically different packaging.

Does anyone know if the BD menus are different than the SD menus? I usually don't nitpick about stuff like this, but the menus on the SD are awful. I'm currently out of town so I can't check my copy

Sounds crazy but I'm already contemplating getting the Target 3-Disc to go with my BB Blu-Ray and my Borders Exclusive.

Hey, I ordered the Borders Exclusive but it's not here yet. I was wondering, I heard the cover wasn't the traditional cardboard material, is that true?

Nevertheless, I went to my small town Walmart at 11:30 Friday night to stand in line to get my 2 disc SE. My fiance thinks I'm crazy because I'll have 2 copies of the movie. :P

True. If you've seen the set, it's sort of similar to kind of material that was used in Grindhouse Releasing's first edition of the Cannibal Holocaust SE.

Heck, I might have 3 copies of this movie by the time the week is over

Borders pushed out lots of product. Not only did most of the teens buy twilight accesories and gear (Director's notebook, movie companion). The adults all bought several books as well. Borders had to have made a killing that night.

I watched the blu-ray version Saturday night and I thought it was only OK. Some of the PQ was very nice (outdoor scenes) but I found the SQ to be less than dynamic. Overall not worthy of the blu-ray price.
