I kind of take offense to that! I've been around even longer than 2000 by a couple of years. (I got booted once I think for arguing with some forum policeman who got pissed off at me or something. I forget what it was now, it was a long time ago!) I like to say I personally helped put a lot of dot coms out of business with the coupons they were giving away and the price mistakes they were making and honoring back then!

I was trying to figure out the 300 number anyway. I always thought it was for responses, but now I'm assuming they are thread starters? I'm confused about that one. I looked back at my responses here and it seemed stuck on 309, we'll see what it says when I post this.

EDIT:
OK, it went up one. Well anyway, I guess I'm just not a post whore! I always try to say something meaningful or add to the conversation.

It appears you've had several additional usernames (headless, mpheadless) in your tenure here. That's definitely not allowed!

I'd pay $10-$20 for that.

Oh great! Now I'm going to be blackmailed into buying the upgrade or get booted off again!
Seriously, I don't think headless, unless I had forgotten my password or something. As far as I know I only had one before.
I wonder how far back the posts go if I do a search for that old username?
Edit: nothing. Too old. I guess they didn't keep the postings when they upgraded to this style of forum a few years ago.

Easy there, Sporticus. There's lots of "senior members" floating around here, so no need to get all history-of-me just because I used your mighty 300 as a reference.

[petting head gently]There there, now.[/petting head gently]

So, those that sign up are like the Alliance and those who don't are like Capt. Malcom Reynolds? Because, like, sweet.

Were there really people posting requests for a premium paid forum service?! This is the first I've even heard of it.

I may be in the minority here, but even a one-time payment of $10 seems too much for those features, let alone $10-20/year.

I havn't made up my mind if I'm going to bite or not, but probably when I get my January paycheck I'll jump.

It's ironic...I'm the opposite - if he still owned the site, I probably wouldn't have contributed.

Also, if a premium member leaks it, it will be easier to see who leaked it since it wouldn't tend to be a lurker. Not that anything would happen to them. Hmm...
This whole "become a premium meber so we can keep all the good deals to ourselves" sounds like total bullshit to me. It seems to run contrary to everything that a community should be. I was getting ready to join (because I like avatars) until all this crap started to fly.

I don't really care about the premium area, I have no intention of joining just so that I may be able to get screeners (I could be wrong - but I am pretty sure that you will find out you may lose your screener privileges if you go down that road). The prospect that the premium area may start detracting from the rest of the site does concern me. I've been here almost since the beginning. I've never jumped ship to any other forum (never had the time or the desire). But hey, new captain, new ship rules.
