Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

Looks like there will be six Legends of Wrestling DVDs. Got the February issue of WWE Magazine with Jeff Hardy on the cover and it shows the covers for the following six.

Jerry Lawler & Junkyard Dog
Heatseekers
Ric Flair & Sgt. Slaughter
Andre the Giant & Iron Shiek
Hulk Hogan & Bob Backlund
Roddy Piper & Terry Funk

The ad says "Available 1/27 Exclusively at Best Buy"

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

So I am going to Bestbuy tomorrow to pick up the best of Starcade, I would like to price match Bestbuy with Sears. My question how do I do it, do I need to show them a print out or something?

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

To do the price match just go to customer service and they can bring up the ad on sears.com on their computer. You should not need to bring a copy of an ad.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

Picked up Starrcade (cheapest so far in Canada is 29.99 at HMV) and TNA Bound for Glory IV.

Has anyone managed to find XPW Cold Day in Hell on Blu-ray?

I asked the sales guy at HMV and he said its not in their system, but they can special order it for me, but would take about 2-3 weeks. I checked on Amazon.ca and it says ships in 6-9 days. Doesn't seem like online retails have it, even Big Vision Entertainment's site doesn't have the Blu-ray version available to purchase, only the DVD.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

There's a rumor going around various sites that WWE is planning a "Greatest Superstars of the 1990's" DVD to be released around April 2009. Nothing else has been mentioned about it other than that's in the planning stages.

There seriously needs to be a Wrestlecrap set. They could have Doink (face version only), Mantaur, Man Mountain Rock, the Godwinns, Dynamic Dudes, the Ding Dongs (don't get 'em near Festus), Eugene, Oz, Vinnie Vegas, Al Wilson, Beaver Cleavage, the Big Show/Bossman angle, basically anything on http://www.wrestlecrap.com/oldinductions.html

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

i just finished watching the documentary portion of the Starrcade dvd, and while i think it was pretty good, i think it could have been a lot, (and i mean a lot) longer, with more input from the participants. they could have gone into a lot more detail about important matches in the history of Starrcade. Aside from '83, they really didn't go into much detail about the buildup or card of any of the other Starrcades.

now on to the matches.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

how bout just a best of wcw dvd, atleast a 3 disk if not 4 disk set

1 disc-doc plus few extras
other 3 all the best matches from nitro, wargames, etc

wcw deserves a dvd like that much like rise and fall of ecw, and if sells good they could keep releasing more and more, like volume 2 an so on

that along with macho man are the 2 dvds that need to get done more than anythine else, and for current superstars jericho needs one, the guy has been in japan, ecw, wcw, wwe, they could make a whole disc just on his funny promos in wcw

BestBuy.com has the Legends of Wrestling set for 34.99 and Amazon is selling it for 35.99....What in the hell??? Not sure why this particular 3 disc set is going for about $10 higher than most 3 disc WWE sets.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume VIII

The inclusion of those random WCW matches makes it awfully tempting. I have no interest in the older stuff, but Flair/Hennig on Nitro, Hall/Goldberg on Nitro, Nash/Hall from Halloween Havoc and Russo vs. Booker (!) are matches I would really love to see (save for maybe the last). I hope this addition of more WCW is a sign of things to come.
